MKPortal has always been known for it's ability to bring together simplicity and community features, by integrating with many popular forum systems and including a number of essential community modules.
Unfortunately MKPortal suffers from fairly poor organization tools and any small to medium websites will quickly outgrow MKPortal's limited potential.
MKPortal's limits
MKPortal's modules all serve a single, specific purpose. For instance, MKPortal has a single module for members to contribute ‘reviews’. Because of the assumptions the developers made, that feature can't expand to allow members to instead contribute ‘how-to guides’, for instance, with extra required fields.ocPortal's features are much more flexible, letting you expand in exactly these ways.
Trust your team
ocPortal is the result of years of development by a team with real experience in the industry. As a result, ocPortal has been created with ‘real-world problems’ in mind: which is why we developed active hack attack prevention/logging, and why we test internally using custom tools that automatically probe for XSS security vulnerabilities. Also, if you need assistance down the road, our development team can personally troubleshoot problems, or explain features to you, at a reasonable rate. Our active community is also very helpful.
