Congratulations to SoccerDad for being nominated and voted our latest Member of the Month.    

SoccerDad has been with us for quite some time and is a long time supporter of ocPortal. He is always very friendly and has been helpful to staff and users on a number of occasions.

Member Of The Month is our way of giving credit to those in our community who give back. Every month we will be highlighting a member's efforts as our way of saying "Thank You", and to inspire other members to give back to the community too.

As we have only just started this competition there are a number of other members who have made great contributions that we have not yet been able to highlight. Over time we will be awarding others who have already made a great contribution, as well as new members.

Congratulations to Amichan for being our first Member Of The Month!  

Ami has been involved in our community for many years now. She has:

• worked hard to promote ocPortal
• made lots of good suggestions
• set up community websites for ocPortal
• managed to be so active she is the only non-staff-member to show on the Point leader-board (on the left)!

As we have only just started this competition there are a number of other members who have made great contributions that we have not yet been able to highlight. Over time we will be awarding others who have already made a great contribution, as well as new members.

Congratulations to Islander-aua for being our second Member Of The Month!  

Islander-aua has been involved in our community for not even a year, but in this time he has made lots of contributions:

• Created and shared a number of really detailed theming tutorials
• Been a great help in the forums
• Led a number of web design classes using ocPortal for his students

In his own words, here's a little more about those classes:

I had 4 classes for a total of about 100 students. 61 students elected to create their own ocPortal sites during the segment about website creation and design. The course lasted for 16 weeks. Teaching about the ocPortal CMS was challenging and revealing in many aspects, as there was no way of knowing how it would be received by the students. This experiment and the knowledge I have acquired meanwhile will be used to develop the next courses with greater success, which will take place in February 2010.

Brian has been a steadfast and supportive member of these forums, and in our eyes has been most helpful to both us (via the submission and discussion of bug reports) and to other members (by always providing in-depth answers to others' questions). It's acts like these that will help our community grow, so we are very appreciative of Brian's efforts!

dbresnick has been with us for only a few short months but in that time he has become a dedicated member of the community. He has fixed a number of bugs and issues under a variety of topics such as newsletters, hidden users and forums; all of which have been made readily available to the community.

Congratulations to agbkorf for being nominated and voted our latest Member of the Month.    

Most users when they join our forum either post a lot publicly or send us a lot of support tickets. agbkorf has done both, he has sent us a substantial number of bug reports which he had no personal motivation to do so as he had already devised a work around.

Sending us bug reports is vitally important to the ocPortal software as usually a bug is experienced by multiple users before it is reported to us and we are very grateful for all of agbkorf's help.

lgdesign joined us in 2006 and has helped us by reporting many bugs over the years which in turn has helped us make ocPortal the software it is today. lgdesign also has completed the Italian translation of ocPortal on more than one occasions for different versions of ocPortal.

We are very grateful for both of the above and would like Everybody, please show your appreciation to lgdesign .

mythus has been with us since 2008 and has been an active member of our community and has been very helpful answering other forum members questions. In his own words "since I had been helped here I always try to help when I see a question I can answer."

This is an excellent attitude and if everyone follows this example it will help everyone in the community move forward creating their own websites and to improve ocPortal as a whole.

Alex has been a member of this forum since January of this year and in that time has been very helpful to other members of the forum. Alex has also reported a number of bugs including some in the recent release of Issue 5 helping us to make it better for everyone.
