To upgrade from any previous 4.0 Release Candidate
Please make sure you take a backup before uploading your new files!
» alternatively (but not recommended), you can manually upload the files inside the attached TAR file over existing files (7-zip is just one of many tools for tar files). This is not recommended because it will bypass the upgraders addon-aware extraction algorithm and potentially cause problems.
To upgrade from any previous 3.x.x release
- Visit our download page and choose to "Download Package". Then download the "Manual extractor" package.
- Upload all the files from this package, except install.php and info.php.
- Follow the steps in your website's http://mybaseurl/upgrader.php script except skip step 3 as you have already uploaded the new files.
As this is a major new version, old themes will not be compatible and will need to be remade.
