Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

To upgrade from a 2.6 release, you need to upload all the files from the manual installer package, except 'install.php' and 'info.php'. You then need to run http://mybaseurl/force_upgrade.php, which will tell you what old 2.6 files you need to delete. Upgrading is not something we can guarantee will be smooth. Always:
  • take a backup that you know you can restore
  • read the upgrade tutorial carefully
  • follow the force_upgrade.php instructions carefully
  • remember that you can get full help from ocProducts, for a reasonable fee - or if you encounter actually bugs, we will fix the bugs for you within a few working days
Also please note that ocPortal has split into two versions starting from version 3. ocPortal.com hosts the regular version which best meets the needs of the majority, whilst ocProducts.com serves bespoke solutions using the enterprise version. A few carefully selected features, such as support tickets, were moved to the enterprise version and hence are now only available as a part of a bespoke ocProducts solution - this was done to streamline the product.

For more details on upgrading, see our upgrading tutorial.

Any common upgrade problems are being tracked in this forum topic.
If you have another problem, please file a bug report and ocProducts will respond and update the topic accordingly.
