ocPortal 6.0.3 released

Version 6.0.3 has now been released. This version is a patch release that introduces a number of bug fixes since the last release. Upgrading is suggested due to large number of fixes.

To upgrade follow the steps in your website's http://mybaseurl/upgrader.php script. You will need to copy the URL of the attached TAR file (created via the form below) during step 3.

Fixes have been made to the following issues

• Fixed viewing catalogue entries with ecommerce addon uninstalled
• Fixed missing edit links when viewing your own profile
• Fixed API doc mistake on addon_installed function
• Fixed duplicate catalogue categories shopping up in the site-tree
• Fixed display of "Show articles in full" main_news block option in add-block tool
• Better described how the fallback main_news block option works
• Updated iOS icon to higher resolution (retina display)
• Fixed various cases where large external files could be specified by URL such that ocPortal would download them into RAM unnecessarily
• Improved the UI feedback on invalid on invalid dates, regarding interactivity when fixing errors and error highlighting
• Fixed small issue with the Google Translate support for translations when there were language strings that only existed in a translation and hence could not be translated
• Detection if users try and cheat 'required field' statuses by putting in blank spaces
• Detection of if the main posting area is left blank
• General better support for detecting blank WYSIWYG fields
• Fixed email-log stack trace for newsletter emails sent
• Fixed issues with showing newsletter subscribers, and generally tidied up the code
• Fixed that the image fader block needed a certain CSS context to work
• Fixed erroneous space in the RSS block before a full-stop
• Fixed top-site block with complex banner descriptions (fix to issue caused in recent patch) [theoretical bug]
• Fixed email Comcode tag with complex captions (fix to issue caused in recent patch) [theoretical bug]
• Fixed news titles with complex captions (fix to issue caused in recent patch)
• Fixed calendar event titles in day-view (fix to issue caused in recent patch)
• Fixed download boxes for staff (fix to issue caused in recent patch)

• Fixed adding/editing galleries when single-public-zone is enabled (fix to issue caused in recent patch)
• Fixed problem with RSS import of feeds with bad dates (imports them to current date now instead of giving a stack trace)
• Fixed stack trace when corrupt data in a date catalogue field
• If linking to a now-deleted image/video in a flow-mode gallery it now says there's a missing resource, instead of just not showing a highlighted image/video
• Fixed display of panels on login page on mobile mode
• Added logout option to site-tree, if you're logged in (so doesn't show on the sitemap if you're a Guest)
• Fixed lack of CSS when previewing newsletters
• Fixed issues with avatar-photo-subtitutes when the avatar addon is uninstalled
• Fixed framework so the Facebook addon can turn off the email-none-dupe requirement for it's own signups (caused a nasty looping problem as Facebook is persistent about finishing a login -  so ocPortal can't block it)
• Clarified how quiz answer explanations work
• If local RSS feeds are used, staff email addresses are stripped (because they are not meaningful when a local feed is in a local context)
• Stopped the iPad using mobile mode
• Added support for pdas.txt to define exceptions to mobile mode as well as saying what user-agents should use it
• Fixed issue with templates being found twice in the Admin Zone search if overridden
• Allowed CSV imports of members to use dash-separated join-dates as well as the normal slash-separated ones
• Fixed overlay of RSS feeds on the calendar
• Fixed chat colour name option (fix to issue caused in recent patch)
• For accessibility added tooltip to explain the edit-in-zone-editor links
• Improved ignoring of MacOS thumbnail images in zip files
• Made the main_comcode_page_children block adapt better when page titles are set after it has initially rendered or if the Comcode page cache has been emptied
• Fixed IOTD randomisation feature
• Stopped Comcode showing in breadcrumbs for Comcode-filled news article titles
• Fixed the link to disable mobile mode
• Fixed the edit template links to use the active theme when viewing overlaid edit links on the current screen
• Disabled the 'Advanced admin cache' feature by default, due to complexities of debugging with it
• Removed the redirects options from the zone editor if the redirects addon is uninstalled
• Fixed moving of Comcode pages using the Site Tree Editor
• Fixed import of geolocation data
• Fixed that duplicate usernames were not detected using AJAX when signing up if spaces were added around them
• Improved Javascript onload events and setInnerHTML for simplicity, speed and stability
• Fixed that image banners without URLs were put in an iframe
• Fixed bad choice of colour for dark-themed calendar templates
• Removed auto-creation of comment topics for private events, for situation when they had been enabled (it's not on by default) but this would be a privacy leak
• Fix error about missing config option when viewing tabular catalogues with reviews enabled
• Fixed error when renaming Comcode page when awards addon uninstalled
• More specific error about missing thumbnail if no thumbnail uploaded for a video and one could not be auto-generated
• Fixed hard-coded 'Insert' string in English in a template
• If HTML to Comcode detection is disabled, it will still be done now if the user does not have HTML permission
• Error emails will no longer by sent to ocProducts relating to timeouts on servers where the timeout has been made tiny
• Comment topic poster links will no longer lose keep variables (like SU) if clicked
• Fixes to issues with automatic video thumbnail creation
• Small display fix when viewing a non-validated gallery entry
• Small display fix to multi-tick input fields
• You no longer get a generic error about an out-of-range integer input field if you get the CAPTCHA value much too long (probably no human would, but if someone holds down a number key…)
• Fix to auto re-cache of Javascript if JAVASCRIPT_CUSTOM_GLOBALS.tpl detected as changed in whatever theme is active (only worked in default theme previously)
• Fix to popup window links so they don't keep opening new popup windows
• Made the Flash mp4 player enable by default, as JWPlayer's HTML5 support apparently broke in newer versions of Google Chrome, although we have tried to patch some of these problems too
• Worked around bug in some browsers when trying to add attachments when the WYSIWYG was enabled
• Fixed small issue with display of RGB components of very dark colours in the Theme Wizard colour chooser.
• Fixed the Javascript integer-validation code for numbers with leading zeros
• Added "clickable" mouse cursor style to tree-list fields
• Removed "are you sure you want to delete" message when previewing when deleting is selected
• Improved explanation of the usergroup 'Quota' option (explained there's a permission to disable it)
• Fixed small theoretical issue displaying member profile action links
• If a catalogue picture field is non-optional you can no longer delete it when editing an entry
• When recommending to friends, the friend email addresses are now validated in Javascript
• Fixed error when using real-time rain on non-OCF installs
• Fixed memory-limit issue when generating thumbnails using the 'THUMBNAIL' symbol
• Fixed small display issue displaying tags
• Fixed the 'Save and stay' option on the template editor when new-style short URLs are enabled
• Fixed stack trace caused by bots making up long URLs
• Fixed generation of dark Theme Wizard themes when using the default seed
• Fixed permission denied error when editing a comment topic post when you don't have direct access to the comments forum
• Fixed error importing custom profile fields using XML

New features:

• Added automatic backup of edited language files against the latest edited version, in case a developer uploads their own local changes on top
• Added support for favicons, iOS icon, and system avatar, in debrand tool
• Added support for Facebook's Open Graph Protocol to the default theme (so Facebook links get a nice thumbnail and caption relevant to the page being linked to)
• The ocf_rules script can now show site rules as well as forum rules; useful for themers themeing the signup form who want rules in a popup
