ocPortal defines a larger icon, for use by browsers when they need one. However, many ocPortal admins do not customise this icon as it is rarely seen (i.e. often unnoticed by the admin).
The latest version of Google Chrome seems to have changed how favicons are processed (bug). It is down-scaling the large icon, rather than choosing the correct sized favicon.
As you probably will not want a shrunken version of the text "ocPortal" shown to Google Chrome users, you should customise the 'appleicon' theme image to set something more appropriate.
Hopefully Google will fix this bug, as it would be much better if Chrome continued to choose the most appropriate image size.
I am not sure at this point if this only affects Mac users, some other segment of users, or all Google Chrome users.
