Current work

Current work It's been an incredibly busy week for me - my staff are on holiday, so I'm handling most issues myself. And boy, has a lot come in in the last 7 days - the forums and support ticket systems have been busier than ever, and due to the new version and increased activity, bugs have been coming in as quickly as ever too.

At the moment we're not working on a new version nor planning to start in the next few months. Instead. we're commited to putting our resources to maintaining version 3 to make sure it is:
  • stable and compatible
  • well documented
  • has a great community around it
  • is easy to use and maintain
We're also doing project work for clients, which will result in new features along the line - when we do decide it is time to make a new major release, a lot of new stuff will already be around for us to put in.

I just put out the latest patch release last night, and this release does show that whilst we're not making the kind of huge pushes forward we do with major releases, we are making very significant improvements to usability. We're treating all fixable problems people have with ocPortal almost as bugs to be fixed. A good example is that we received some feedback that it was time consuming applying all the bug fixes we give out between releases - so we made changes to the code editor to allow them to be applied much quicker.

If you have any problems or ideas please do report them to us!
