Improving the documentation has been critical to the v10 process. It's been a huge process of neutral in-depth reviewing, amends, graphics design, integrating past unofficial text from various sources, and writing new tutorials.
We're almost done with it all now, so I'll share some rough stats (rounded), and have a little fun in the process.
v9 docs: 400 images and 250,000 words
v10 docs: 900 images and 450,000 words
As you can see, we have doubled it on both fronts. It's quality, not just quantity, though – all of it has been reviewed very carefully.
A novel is around 70,000 words, so we have over 6 novels of material here.
I recent remarked that I have some solidarity with George RR Martin, regarding his recent announcement of Winds Of Winter being delayed (think "Game of thrones" if you don't know this series).
The Winds Of Winter delay makes me feel a bit better about the Composr (ocPortal) v10 delay ;-).— Chris Graham (@occhris) January 3, 2016
As it happens, Winds Of Winter is also the 6th novel in the "A song of ice and fire" series. However George is up to about 2 million words as his books are huge.
We come back into the game when you realise Composr itself is 740,000 lines (including non-bundled addons, not including documentation text, not including most third-party code).
