Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

Winter

Click on image for a live demo of this theme.

Based on my recent Forest theme, this is another digital composition for an ocPortal website theme showcasing a feature allowing for distinct "welcome" and "site" pages. The 1920 x 1200 panoramic winter scene is enhanced with HTML5, JavaScript and JQuery code snippets to produce a satisfying winter scene.

I have tested this theme with the latest browsers and although they all render an adequate scene, they certainly do not do it with equal accuracy and performance. For best results, I suggest Firefox or Google Chrome.

I hope you will enjoy the Winter theme, especially for this season. I wish you all the joys of seeing a white Christmas.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Jean

Additional information

Important installation notes:

To ensure best functionality please enable the following features on your browser and site:
JavaScript
Fixed-Width model
Separate zones for the Welcome page and Site page.

ocPortal version 9+ makes use of HTML5/CSS3 animation tags and styles and includes several pre-installed JavaScripts and Plugins. This is still experimental technology which will require the latest browsers versions to deploy successfully. At published date, the best viewing experience for this theme was with FireFox and Google Chrome. All other browsers experienced lagging performances.
To insure proper integration with other elements of the website,  please disable Javascript overlays by following this link:
Admin Zone-->Setup-->Configuration-->> Accessibility
'Enable Javascript overlays'  (remove check-mark to disable)

You will find the fixed width and welcome/site zones elements during the Setup Wizard step 3 and 5
You can also change the Welcome zone feature by going to the Admin Zone-->Setup-->Configuration-->Site Options-->General
