Good Job, Bob. This is the part where you gotta work your butt off so the rest of us can know what to do. Good Luck and Looking Forward to it!

My Goal is to make all of this publicly-available and transparent if I can. As some of you know, I am dealing with some health issues right now which is slowing things down a bit. Please don't stop offering your ideas as i manage to get these read everyday and wrestle with the best way to pull this all together.

Rest assured, also, that if my health care needs demand more than I can deliver, I will be quick to inform Chris and look for some suitable solution. But the fact is, there have been no real surprises and it's just a matter of coming up for an appropriate treatment for an unspecified lymphoma (the first two biopsies failed to provide full pathology and I met with the thoracic surgeon who will be doing the surgical biopsy hopefully very soon. I have already been referred to the oncologist who is just awaiting the biopsy results and the staging information (most likely need PET scans for those) so that he can plan treatment.

I want a good book to arise from this project and I am confident that we will have this whether I lead up the effort or we find another to do so.

Bob

I am guessing this is all to document ocp?

Not sure if I can help, I got into the code before and understood a good bit, but am back at ground level because it's been a long time since I messed with it.

I'd like to help here and there, as I can, but not sure what I could actually provide to the whole thing.

No worries Bob, regardless of what happens I plan to contribute what I was asked for.

I gotta finish up just a few more pages for my site and then I should be able to focus more clearly at my task. As you had stated that the wiki+ section was for a later date I assumed that there wasn't a huge rush anyway.

But yeah, it will all come together, because the ocCommunity is unstoppable.

Like ocPortal? Want to thank Chris and gang somehow? Then help out in the chat room! It really needs your help! Just open it in a tab everytime you open your web browser, and when you hear a "ding", check it out!

mythus-

I am currently dealing with some fatigue from the chemo. It should either get better or worse next week (I start a second chemotherapy to be given in conjunction with the first). I currently wake up fully energized but I tire through the day so I am just trying to get back to a maintainable schedule.

I really want to see this book written and would love to lead the effort but I also don't want to jeopardize the effort because of my health. I hope that I can get things rolling again in a couple of weeks.

The ocPortal community is unstoppable. It was so great to return to the forums to find several new members who are active and who have even committed an add-on. Chris has made all the right moves to free up his time so that this growth may continue.

Since I can't come up with anything original (not enough caffeine in me yet), I just "borrow" and say about ocPortal "Live long and prosper". I'm sure others will come up with something better.

You just take care of yourself Bob. Cancer and chemo, from what I hear, is not fun.

My statement still stands though. I'll do my part, and time permitting I might be able to chip in more. This vision will be completed because of this great community.

You already have done more than enough. I think we all know our roles, at least well enough to get things together so that soon-ish ™ a draft can be assembled.

Just just rest, relax, and beat that cancer!

Thanks, mythus.

I am quite determined to beat the cancer and my unofficial prognosis is good. I'll find out more next Tuesday when I see my doctor who will have the results of my PET/CT scan and I will have another round of chemo that lasts about 5.5 hours. I am fortunate thus far to have no side effects except fatigue. If anything, my appetite has increased which they say bodes well.

My spirit is high and working on the book project will be therapeutic in its own right. Plus I just so strongly believe in what Chris and his team are doing with ocPortal: I need to give back. But yes, I will also take the time I need to assure my recovery is as smooth as possible.
