Texas redneck checking inI've now been able to connect to the TS3 server but the TS3 API appears to be significantly different to TS2 API that this block uses and the block is unable to return any data. So I won't be going any further with this

There are various reasons this might get appended, but you should have a look at the following, first:
Finally, perhaps somebody with first-hand knowledge of this issue might step in and offer a suggestion or two!
Take my advice. I'm not using it!

The reason we have it is as a complete fudge to make the WYSIWYG Comcode marking work (where certain tags are marked out with a background). By injecting the zero-width space we are able to stop the marking styles accidentally leaking into surrounding areas. If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource. |

Here are a few pointers to investigate: I had a look at your page with the teamspeak3 comcode reference. Take another look at your comcode tag, it might be different than [teamspeak3] Your comcode tag must be referred to in the brackets. (see image) I also find that enabling that feature helps in most cases converting out of WYSIWYG. A common mistake when trying to disable wysiwyg: Also to test, remove any other surrounding code other than the comcode tag itself (no box). In a none-wysiwyg environment this should give immediate results. As Fletch suggested, a buggy FF (and it keeps getting worst these days) could be problematic sometimes. If nothing helps, try to attach an image of your comcode tag and insert the code between a comcode codebox (you can find as an icon on your editor) Jean |

Hey Temp, That's just fine. Thanks for trying! If anyone could have done anything with it, it's you! It is not worth loosing time over this, since the API is completely different and it is bound to change again, no doubts. Just happy you tried! |

That wouldn't be so bad if I didn't already have a couple of ocportal things I wanted to do already which I just can't seem get the time to finish or start (one of each).

Guys I cant tell you how much better as a consumer it makes me feel to see how quick all of you have jumped into this. This is a huge plus for me and many other guys in the gaming community since most of us just want to play and bs. I know of quite a few who like me had to just jump in and learn and have no clue how to build a site. Since this originally started as my into thread I was thinking about others who may be interested not finding all this info about Teamspeak. (most new guys dont use the search from my experience) So should I start a thread in the appropriate forum with a proper title. Possibly someone with the ability move all the discussion about Teamspeak to it? It would make this information much easier to find for others until a addon can be made. Not to mention others may get involved that might have ideas. This will be a great feature that will really tip the scales for a gaming clan interested in using ocportal I am very grateful many of you have shown so much interest to get it working.

If the mods don't move the Teamspeak stuff into its own topic, you could at least start a new topic with a link to this thread. Bob |

Now I am on to a new Teamspeak quest. The box we created to hold teamspeak has a manual setting for the width. However using a Fluid page layout It most likely will not look correct on different resolutions or screen sizes. I have it set to line up great on my columns with a 25" screen but I know it needs to be able to follow the other items in the left panel.

It is a style decision to go for a Fluid design, and there are lots of opinion on the subject (you can find several on these pages, but in my mind Fluid designs work best for forum only sites. You will be able to better manage the look and feel of your site with a Fixed Width, knowing that what you see, most everyone with a decent monitor will also get. If you intend to have info on your side panels going a bit outside the default 13em width of ocPortal, you can always increase it as suggested in earlier posts, and even use a 2 panel design instead of 3. But that's for another discussion in the Themeing forum I know. As you have rightly discovered, the Custom Comcode for TS3 does not stay within the boundaries of our panels, and that's too bad. However, there is another method which would work within the panel's width, but is probably not as elegant. Try this code on a Disabled WYSIWYG edit of your :panel_left: Dump all your code (the one from the custom comcode) between the hide comcode. (Hide is not necessary but it will give you a "title" and prevent long lists from conspicuously invading the look of your panel) Code
[semihtml][hide="TS3=AFK="]your code here[/hide][/semihtml]
So no Custom Comcode necessary for this one. Try it! Jean |

Should I be using Discard or Convert? I am still getting code confusing (to me). Here you can see I just tried adding the new hide version at the bottom leaving the one we had alone to compare. The code has changed and I am using Chrome now. Code
[semihtml][block param="main_features" type="tree" caption="Features"]side_stored_menu[/block]
Im not getting any output I just get the hide box.

Yes, it does look like the conversion did not work out cleanly. It is a complex process for the editor to get it perfect each time. I usually remove the extra code and test with my preview until I'm satisfied, or start again with a clean slate. It also looks like you are missing lots of the "script". Try to isolate the suggested comcode just around the script. This is what I have which works fine on my test site: Code

The style control of this script is with the TS viewer script and not with ocPortal. You can easily add padding by modifying this div: Code
<div id="ts3viewer_926603" style="width:; padding-left:15px; background-color:;"> </div>
See: padding-left (change it at will) I have themed phpbb in the past and "never liked the limitations". I've co-themed the global-conflict.org site and refused lately a request to contribute again. ocPortal may look daunting at first, but that's because of the infinite possibilities it offers site owners at all levels of expertise, from beginners to pro, there's no limits imposed on anything. It has been great to work with you. Looking forward to do it again. Cheers, Jean |
