To hell with this, being ignored is one thing that really gets on my nerves, that'll be the last time you ignore me here Chris, I'm out of here.
Sorry to have to be so indelicate as to point you at this, but here's a selected quote from the first paragraph of Forum advice and rules, recap that you may have not quite noticed …

1. Our forum is not an official support channel (click here for ocProducts' paid support).

  • What if you see us replying to other topics? It is true that ocProducts staff frequently visits these forums and reply to a few topics. But please don't assume we will read your post or necessarily respond. If you need to get in touch, click support at the top of the page.

Take a deep breath and try again.

@Chris you fixed the issue of me NOT getting ANY notifications however I am still now getting notifications for all my post that I have written. This seams an unnecessary tax on your mail server to send me a notification that I posted something when I already know I posted it.

I am just making sure you understand the error. It doesn't bother me that much but I am just concerned you may not be aware of it and might like to fix it (as low priority). I know I am not the only one getting copies  of his own post each time. that's a lot of unnecessary mail.

I fired up v8 RC6 to check if a javascript & permissions problem I was getting in v7 was still there. I found the following:

In Instant Messaging section:

1) FireFox - I can start a IM with a friend even though "Start Instant Messaging conversation" permission is off.

1b) IE - Nothing happens when I click the link to start the IM

1c) Chrome - I can start an IM (even though I should not be able to), but get this:

Duplicate headers received from the server

The response from the server contained duplicate headers. This problem is generally the result of a misconfigured website or proxy. Only the website or proxy administrator can fix this issue.

Error 349 (net::ERR_RESPONSE_HEADERS_MULTIPLE_CONTENT_DISPOSITION): Multiple Content-Disposition headers received. This is disallowed to protect against HTTP response-splitting attacks.

It implies that it is a problem with my web server configuration, but is strange that I am only seeing this problem when I try to download IM or chat logs.

2) If a member is ticked and I click "remove friend" freind is not deleted and I get "You are not currently friends with (multiple)."

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

Notification: New action-log entry: Edit usergroup
Yikes!! Just had 2400 of these queue up for mailing to regular members. Not good!

And like Bob, I've got 1200 of those Admin Zone access messages in the queue.

How do I mass delete 3600 emails from the queue? Good thing I turned off the email the other day.

That is disturbing. I am looking at this soon, but to quickly answer your question, you can empty the contents of the logged_mail_messages table.
EDIT: Or, yes, there's a button that does the same :).

If expectations are that I must personally respond to issues on a Sunday those expectations are really unfair to me.

Importing a theme from my dev site on localhost to my actual site RockBabe gives me an error after importing.

An error has occurred

The requested resource does not exist.

Expand: click to see trace click to see trace

I've just checked the code and this is complaining about a missing theme.ini in the tar file. You can probably extract the TAR manually onto the server instead (that's pretty much what the addon installer does), but I am going to check now to see if there is some kind of bug in creating them incorrectly that may have led to this missing theme.ini.

I know bugs holding you up are frustrating. I do honestly try and respond to things as quickly as possible, and I know generally you're having a very stressful time at the moment on a number of fronts, so I do understand. I am too, however, and I have had stuff on my todo list for a few years now I still haven't got to, and have had plenty of drama in recent years due to running a company in a failing global economy. I'm always doing fire-fighting on things, almost pushing me beyond human limits, and it's usually around 6PM at night before I can actually start the days work (due to what comes in over night, e.g. bugs, emails from clients, support tickets). Often on Sundays I take a little time to let my brain rest, or maybe I focus on some large task and ignore the issue queue for a little. That's not so much a choice, as a necessity, as I generally push myself beyond healthy work limits all the time and I tend to get exhausted by the end of the week.

Yes, testing did confirm a bug. Please copy the theme.ini file from inside your theme's theme directory over manually, then it'll work. It was incorrectly missed out of the packaged addon.

You'll need to use the 'codebox' tag to do scrolling. It's a historical thing that doesn't make sense anymore, I've noted it onto the tracker.

Another one I noticed in an earlier RC and forgot to mention here. I am sometimes getting starge characters in content entries. Below is the before and after description of for my Links category:

I think I've seen this in several places – will go hunting.

Bob

As you presumably exported then re-imported the database, I suspect this may have been a character set encoding mismatch. The SQL dump itself will have an implicit character set (i.e. the text in the file), regardless of what the tables contained in it are in, and whatever imports it must match up. It's a highly confusing phenomena (character sets inside character sets), but probably the cause.

Some quick testing in "Notification lock-down":
  • Security: Admin Zone front-page accessed
    • anything other than "not locked down…" generates notices to all members.
  • Staff: New entry in the Action Log
    • set to "member's typical…" generates notices to all members

Right, you found a really nasty one here. Sorry about that.
It was a convergence of unfortunate things:
  • These notifications are high-traffic
  • You were able to lock them on for everyone
  • Permissions were not correctly encoded on them
The last bit being the bug.

I have gone through and found 3 notification hooks had this problem. Fixes are attached…

I'll check into this. I thought everything was UTF-8 but then again, I used the database which was backed up with the Installatron backup plug-in which may have used something different.

Thanks for your help.

The "old" one can still show if Comcode conversion is enabled in the config (no longer is by default). Will look at bug report soon.

I don't know if this is the right place for this or not….or even if any of this is an issue. It may be my settings and I am still exploring to see if I made any mistakes setting it all up. But I figure it worth a mention since it is related to activities which is a seriously cool new feature available for V8 many people will be interested in.

I have facebook, twitter and activities installed successfully (and easily). But I am not so sure about some of the behavior.

In facebook settings I entered the id for my page but it is syndicating to my personal account and nothing to my business page.

Posts that go out to both Twitter and facebook link to my home page instead of the content it is about.

Making a post in activities in my profile sends the post to facebook but not Twitter.

I could reproduce the first point (syndicating to personal account not page).
A fix is here:
Attachment
sources_custom/hooks/systems/syndication/facebook.php
» Download: facebook.php (3 Kb, 111 downloads so far)

This takes a little explaining though. You are syndicating out to your personal profile as you have set your ocP profile to do this. That won't change unless you unset it, which btw gives a stack trace without this fix:
Attachment
sources/config.php
» Download: config.php (15 Kb, 107 downloads so far)

Now the Facebook bug I fixed was that the syndication option wasn't showing. It is meant to show up on news and calendar event submission (i.e. newsy things, syndicated at a site level). You'll now see an option on the submission forms for it.

However, I couldn't find evidence of the links being wrong. I even checked your own Facebook account, and saw a deep link into your site.

And I tested both site and profile-based Twitter syndication and it worked okay.

Is there a way to turn off the ability to receive "security" or "staff" type notifications for staff members? For example, a lower staff member who has no admin panel access should not need/have the ability to receive notices that I have entered the admin panel or that there are entries in the "action log". Some things dealing with staff or security should be on a need-to-know basis.

I'm having the same Calendar issue as I did with RC1 and I'm using RC6 right now.

My question was then and is still today. Why does the Calendar block say 5:00 PM when the event is from 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM, which is displayed correctly in the Calendar view? Everything seems correct except that 5:00 PM in the side block.
