Do you use the plupload addon (non-bundled)? If so, please try reinstalling it as fixes have been made in here also. Otherwise either:
could you open a bug report ticket with whatever details I'd need to test this on your site, and info about what browser you are using.
You might find something in your browser's error log about a corrupt javascript_swfupload.js, put &keep_no_minify=1 into the URL (to turn off JS compression) and then let me know the error (i.e. line number and error message).
I did install the plupload addon, but I can't remember if it was before or after this error.

I'll test and report back.
I reinstalled plupload. I could not reproduce the error before of after the reinstall.
'Likes' would be a specific notification you can turn on or off from the notification settings form.
Replies to your own topic would be triggered by the special "Automatically monitor content you've touched" setting on the notification settings form. If that's not checked, it will only do it if you explicitly choose to monitor a topic.
I have Checkmarked the Content Touched thingy but I still don't get notified of my forum topics unless someone likes something.
It's not retroactive, so for existing topics you will need to click monitor.
As you can see by the attached image I am already monitoring this topic and yet I did not receive any notifications that there has been activity in it since my last post
If you open up the browser development tools, find the network request for the site_tree.php script, and open it in a new tab, do you see an error message?
I could not reproduce.
This is the only thing on the page:
This page contains the following errors:
error on line 1 at column 1991: EntityRef: expecting ';' Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
Same error happens when I'm in the menu editor and try to expand 'Zone: Welcome'. Same as with the site tree editor, all other branches open as expected.
Could you put through a bug report ticket with the URL please, I'll need to do an analysis.

“sholzy” does not have access to re-use this attachment.
Same as me. I've went into the notifications editor 2 days ago and set "Automatically monitor content you've touched" to yes, but have yet to receive any notices from this topic.
@Duck- It appears you don't have it set to monitor. Your button should say "unmonitor" if you are monitoring.
I've looked carefully through overrides and underpasses, edited, substituted, cleared caches (ocP and browsers - Chrome, FF, IE, Opera), and just about exhausted anything I know about this particular topic, but I am not getting any closer to resolving the issue.
Issue:
FLV extensions refuse to play in anything other than QT
QT 7.7.1 for Windows installed on my system
QT refuses to play in any browser, demanding further plug-ins, but doesn't identify 'which' plugins
When attempting to edit the FLV entry I get this:
Question is - where the hell do I go from here, or am I destined to never upload another FLV?
All I really want to do is to get the playing of any video file type to default to jwPlayer which seems to run pretty smoothly with ocPortal in previous releases.
Javascript overrides are always tricky, there is so much core code in those. I'd hope people rarely had a reason to override them, but I guess otherwise you'll just need to keep a change log or write your own little "upgrade stage 2" checklist.
When I first started with ocportal I used to keep good notes on the changes I made, but as time went by, and I made a lot more changes, my note taking trickled to pretty much nothing.

Due to other constraints, I have missed out on testing the last 2 RCs.
I'm staying out of the v8 RC game (except for the little bit of testing I've done here on ocportal.com) as I just don't have the time. I was fully expecting big headaches, and ocPortal is already way too distracting for me as it is.
Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .
FLV is a container format; when QT complains that it needs another plug-in, it's basically saying that it does not have a codec to decode the stream. Do you know what the underlying format packaged in the FLV file is?
The real issue is why are your browsers not handling the FLV file directly since they all support this container format. Is it truly any FLV that does not decode in browser? How about an MPEG-4 stream packaged as FLV?

It is a "good" distraction but your point is well-taken. Like others that have highly-customized sites, it makes more sense to test the basic release but I think we've gone past that by now. I think a lot of people with a lot of customization are going to want to wait till 8.x.x before considering an upgrade unless they need a specific new feature.

When I first heard of what was to come in v8, my initial reaction was to wait a couple of point releases, but now I'll probably just wing it and decide based on the reports here.

Sorry I can't respond knowledgeably to that, Bob, as I haven't got a clue about the codecs used or missing.
But here's the rub; the identical vid with .flv extension plays perfectly on the live site running on version 7.1.6. And there isn't a whimper from any of the browsers, either.
Ergo, I have to assume it is something to do with one of the v8 files causing the problem. Which one is the question. And I don't know the answer - yet!

You are right. If it plays in v7, it should play in v8. Does it play via jwplayer in 7.1.6? If so, it's most likely a change in jwplayer but I suspect it will take Chris to sort this.

Fixed! I believe a few people are going to get a notification for this. Because a few people have turned on topic notifications wholesale. If you don't want more, just tune your notification settings (anything ticked on the main notification settings screen in your profile is wholesale - and the advanced settings provide fine-tuning).
If not, please let us know how we can do better (please make suggestions that are economically viable and scalable, not just requests to do more for free).
If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.

This should fix it:
In our attempt to allow people to de-flashify ocPortal, this time an anomalous "_" stopped flv's getting picked p as supported videos.

I see where you are coming from, lol.
However, I should state that I am running 8 RC4 on my live site. RC4 has thus far been gold for me. Maybe I got lucky? lol.
Given that, it makes me hesitant to upgrade to RC5 when RC4 is already going so well. Is there to be an RC6? It looks like that Chris is hoping that RC5 is the last RC release.
I tested with my life site (after making the needed and highly recomended backups) as that seems to be the most sure-fire way to find any bugs, and since my site uses ocPortal, I want to make sure that ocPortal is the best it can be.
And Fletch, I feel your pain. I almost sorely regretted the upgrade early on. But it all worked out and got ironed out, and hopefully benifited ocPortal and others in the process. Your dedication to ocPortal is at the very least, remarkable, and worthy of my respect.

Like ocPortal? Want to thank Chris and gang somehow? Then help out in the chat room! It really needs your help! Just open it in a tab everytime you open your web browser, and when you hear a "ding", check it out!

I am assuming there will be an RC6 because there were just too many issues discovered in RC5. The whole point of a beta and RC releases is to reduce the number of known bugs to 0 prior to declaring the final RC as the golden master. AT least, I am hoping this is the approach that Chris is taking.
