Code
:set_value('likes','1');
It's not a 100% official feature yet. Actually though, under-the-hood we have very good support for saying what content type can be liked and what is rated, and for setting up multiple rating criteria for different content types. That requires some programming to define the parameters for it. Conceptually likes are very close to ratings. A 5-star rating is a like (and like notifications are sent accordingly. A 1-star rating is a dislike. If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. The biggest gripe I have with the configuration screen(s) is not the number of options, but the difficulty in locating which screen something is in. I use the admin search a lot for this. I have no problem turning on things from command line, especially things that are one-time items like "likes". A list somewhere for these types would be helpful, and maybe their corresponding "off" command (if there is one). Could even add a blurb saying they are "not 100% official feature yet" and should be used with caution, etc, etc.

Thanks, Chris! I had no idea this existed. I think I found the most up to date version, 8.0? I need to get out more often and look through other areas of the site for these "hidden" docs. Looking through the Code Book, I found how to turn off the WYSIWYG editor. That thing has given my members the most trouble and me the biggest headache. But not anymore! I assume the "no_wysiwyg" option is site-wide, including the Admin Panel?

OK, Brian - your persistence (insistence) kinda 'forced' me to continue troubleshooting the issue. No doubt the override would have interfered, but I'd already removed it, so couldn't understand WHY I wasn't getting the display when it appeared everybody else (except Harry) WAS! Turns out it was simpler, or more complex, than I thought: I HAD RATINGS DISABLED! Did that a couple of years ago on recommendation of one of my silver-surfers who reckoned it was an unnecessary complication for my users! Re-activated 'Ratings', and the stars 'n' thumbs are showing up fine. And they're retroactive! (P.S. Recommend krunchor close the topic as RESOLVED - if it resolves his problem, of course!)
Take my advice. I'm not using it!
