I think the answer is we don't, Google does. But it'll be controlled via a minus sign.

I'm no expert here, geography/navigation/topology are all areas I have fortunately been able to avoid  .

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.

Worked for me in Firefox but not in Safari 5.1 on a Mac. It asked for permission to use the information in Safari but did not update my profile.

My location is off by about 20 miles but at least I'm not on the other side of the world like Jean.

What about after you refreshed the page?

Still didn't work -  that's why I tried FF.

But then it seems I'm on a very successful venture to break everything in sight. I didn't think my past was that eveil.  ;)

Improved it, no refreshes needed now.

Btw, I keep_su'd to test, he was detected at lat=53.38461124,long=-1.46714437 if it helps illustrate the coordinate system. "He"'s where I am, UK.

… didn't realise he was now a 'street-urchin'!

That's not a nice thing to say Fletch. Chris is clearly not a 'street-urchin' because he is living in a VW.

He's obviously just stepped out to stretch his legs :) .

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

I'm golden now.  I used the profile latitude /longitude

to give the generally accepted coordinates for Texas.

That is specific enough  ;)   I don't want to end up like Robbie with the stalker problem.  :ninja:

For anyone else that is having problems or wants to tweak their location, you might want to try this: Latitude and Longitude of a Point . Just move the red balloon where you want and then copy the lat/long from the Get the Latitude and Longitude of a Point section below the map.
