The place of images on server

Untitled
Hello,

When I created different galleries and uploaded images(one by one) to them, I have noticed that all images from different galleries goes to one folder /uploads/galleries and all thumbnails goes to uploads/galleries_thumbs. Is that ok, as I will not be able to upload different images with the same file name?

There is no GD functionality on my server, so maybe this could impact?

ocPortal is smart enough to rename as required to avoid conflict.

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

I don't know should I create new post, but as I mention early I haven't GD functionality on my server and after I upload images to the galleries everything looks OK. But after some period or maybe after some actions thumbnails disappear. And when I try to edit image, it show that he new only path to image and path to thumbnail is empty. Is it because I don't have GD or is some kind of error?

GD is officially required but if specific actions result in thumbnail deletion please identify them for us and we'll look into it.

You cannot specify thumbnails by URL which is why the URL is not shown on the edit image form. However, it should still work.
