Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

Ah, scheduled newsletters - something I'm looking at for few small websites I'm building. Neat feature :)

Just one more day to go :).

And I was just about to release my upgraded 2.6 site on an unsuspecting public :P ;)

I may as well wait a week or so and see how this beta performs :)

Does this have a restore as well?
Back ups are good but need a restore too.

The ocPortal backup system makes backups which are like installers. You re-run the special installer and the site goes back to how it was when the backup was made.

It doesn't back up the forum. It backs up the ocPortal database, but not as SQL. It actually stores it as code and runs the code - that code rebuilds the database.

is there any change of haveing a optional Timer on the forum closed screen so you can have the time when you hope to have the site up and running?

Avatar
Also can you add full site backups that will imcorperate your rebuild system also maybe password protect the install.php of the backup

Avatar
You could certainly have a timer by programming a calendar command event using OcCLE-code like…

Code

echo '0' > /etc/site_closed

:).

I might be tooting my own horn a bit, but I think it's marvellous how we've got all the elements working in harmony like this :).

There is no password protection for the backups… that's actually an interesting idea, so I'll take note of it.

There are too many online users to list.
