v10 feature freeze, and development availability

Posted 25 March 2015, 4:53 PM

Hello all,

We have 4 big challenges within ocProducts at the moment:
  1. We have been developing v10 (Composr CMS) for some years now, and we need to devote time to getting it finished.
  2. We need to stop the feature-creep, new sponsored-functionality has been extending the size of the v10 indefinitely.
  3. We have a lot of client projects on, roughly one large project per employee.
  4. Hiring skilled developers is a really big challenge nowadays.

Very much appreciate you making these tough decisions in order to get Composr out the door, thank you.

yes, coming to this point was inevitable  ;)

Tough but good call

At some point you need to settle on a stable version and accept what is. I know it was a hard decision as paid jobs should always come first but you have to consider getting out a working stable version to bring in new customers. A working stable release that can be used is the best advertisement. Thank you for making the tough call.

Verison 10 ETA

Do you have potential availability date for verison 10? Will it be rolled out by the new year?
Still no date, but I can say that I am very close to having an empty schedule up to the end of the year. My scheduler has been the main blocking point.

When the new version will be released?
Version 10 of ocPortal (now known as Composr CMS) is actually available as a release candidate at . The current version is RC14. The stable version is RC10. You can download it from .

please changed Collation "latin1_swedish_ci" to "utf8_general_ci"
in the new version.
For use in Middle Eastern countries.
