Parallax Universe
Live Demo Here

The illusion of 3D perspective movement as the user shift his mouse over parts the environment got me thinking about creating a deep space panoramic experience. I wanted to perceive ocPortal as a sort of spaceship navigating the vastness of the web universe.

Keep in mind that this kind of website is not for mobile devices. It will give the best result on a fast computer with a large monitor. Look at it in a dim light s…

The idea is very nice...

Jean, this has to be the coolest site I've ever seen. Thanks for your time and dedication.

Hey, lookie who has popped in!

Nice to see you again Violative. Hope things are right with you - and that you are possibly using ocPortal?

Fletch, Thanks for your kind greeting and yes I've been using ocPortal just recently in our local network. It's a pleasure to see everyone still hard at it and furthermore it's a pleasure using OcPortal again.
I tried to click a 5-star like, but the freakin' dog nudged my elbow as I clicked and it ended up as a 1-star 'dislike'.

Makes you doubt the ability of dogs to read and show proper appreciation for things …!!

From me - it was a 'like'!

Hey Violative!
Nice to hear from you again and thanks for your super comment!

The box backgrounds

I like the way the boxes look in chrome. Any way to make the other browsers show as the same? I cannot find where that is.

I'm glad you like it mrqwolf! :)

ocPortal uses a bit of a magical 'tempcode' function to address the different css vendor prefixes in a way that future updates will not need changes to the code, but if you want to try and modify these values for each browser and achieve what you want to see, this is how you can setup the css lines:

Edit glogal.css
find Line 1209 (.box) selector

current lines said

.box {
   border: 1px solid {$GET,standard_border};
   {$BETA_CSS_PROPERTY,border-radius: 80px 10px;

suggested lines said

.box {
    border: 1px solid {$GET,standard_border};

for Apple, Chrome, Safari 3-4, iOS 1-3.2, Android 1.6-

  -webkit-border-top-left-radius: 80px;
  -webkit-border-top-right-radius: 10px;
  -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 80px;
  -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;

for Firefox 1-3.6

  -moz-border-radius-topleft: 80px;
  -moz-border-radius-topright: 10px;
  -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 80px;
  -moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 10px;

Opera 10.5,IE 9,Safari 5,Chrome,Firefox 4,iOS 4,Android 2.1+

  border-top-left-radius: 80px;
  border-top-right-radius: 10px;
  border-bottom-right-radius: 80px;
  border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;

Notes on vendor prefixes:
-WebKit is the layout engine for Apple Safari and Google Chrome browsers. Opera indicated they would use it as well.

-moz-border-radius is Gecko's (Firefox) equivalent to CSS3's border-radius property

Notice the order of those properties: the vendor prefixes are listed first and the non-prefixed "spec" version is listed last. This is the correct way to do it.

It is easy to see here why we would have different cross-browser results.

At least this way you can experiment with each one and try to get close to what you need to see.

Have fun!:)
Thank you,
 I will play with those and see if I can get them to look more uniform accross browsers. Right after I figure out why my Profile editor takes so loooong to load. Darn thing literally takes 10-30 seconds to load when you click on the edit tab.

Oh well. Thanks again!

Oh darn

I forgot to hit the ratings lol. There we go.

not supportive

not a suportive add-on :(
