Manual installer (as opposed to the regular quick installer). Please note this isn't documentation.

In the manual installation, there is a missing language variable for notifications_lockdown at /adminzone/index.php?page=admin_notifications&type=misc

Avatar
Do you have the proper .htaccess file in place?
Avatar
Ummmmm…no.  :$

You just helped me with the same problem a few weeks ago. I really fear how forgetful I am going to be when I hit 60.

All is well.

There is a file missing in the install package: sources/blocks/main_facebook_like.php

Additionally upon clicking the Chat Lobby link in the pages menu from the CEDI page I got this error message:

Is it normal for my IP address in my profile on localhost to be:
0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001

I was able to start a private topic with myself, is that normal?

Got an internal error message when trying to attach an image to a blog post, same error using both attachment thingies:

Annoying cosmetic bug, see image below, dirty fix is:
Change:

Code

.ocf_member_column_c {<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; width: 22.4em;<br />}

to:

Code

.ocf_member_column_c {<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; width: 24em;<br />}

When using the Leave Feedback shouldn't it submit a new topic in the Staff Website "Contact Us" messages forum, I tried submitting feedback as logged in and as a guest, neither feedback created a topic, am I missing something or am I looking for something that isn't meant to be there!

An ip address of 0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001 is the IPv6 version of localhost (the normal IPv4 version is 127.0.0.1) , so it looks OK to me.
Avatar
Thank you temp1024, seemed a bit weird and when I googled it I just didn't follow the jist of the chatter. :)

Avatar
Phew. Thanks :)!. All resolved on my machine, except the IP address thing which is as explained by temp1024. RC2 will come very soon.

I regret not releasing this as beta1 now, turns out there were quite a few little areas that testing had missed for various reasons. Most of it relating to exactly what addon combinations were installed.

The only thing bothering me in here now is the Comcode 'code' tag bug struck your post here. I haven't been able to reproduce this yet. How did you input it? Via the 'code' button in the WYSIWYG toolbar then pasting? Via the 'Comcode' button and going through the add-tag wizard?
Avatar
Uhmmm, not sure what you mean Chris, if you mean how did I use the code tag I just typed in the squrare brackety thingies and code then used control V to paste in the code!
Avatar
I think I tracked it down :). Should be fixed now.

Trying to get rid of these errors …

I get this when trying to edit the template …
An error has occurred

PHP ERROR [1] Call to undefined function relay_error_mail() in sources_custom/comcode_renderer.php on line 376 (version: 8-RC1, PHP version: 5.2.17, URL: /anglo_clone/adminzone/pg/admin_themes/_edit_templates/index

Chris replied to me earlier that personalzone no longer exists and had me remove it in the zone editor. I wonder if this could be related.

I read that advice and duly complied. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to have worked, and removing OCF_MEMBER_BAR only invites a stack trace.

I suppose I better start looking for the parameter, MEMBER_LINKS and see if that can be body-swerved, somehow.

Could someone paste links to these onto the community docs please, in an appropriate spot?

DONE:

CEDI home » Video tutorials » visual file comparison tool DiffMerge Tutorial

Thanks Chris!--Great tutorial:
The second video froze at one-third. Will check again later to see if it was done by Internet traffic between me and Jing. EDITED: Was just traffic. It completed just fine this time.:)

Downloaded manual installer, opened archive in xampps then ran install. Did basic site set-up then clicked the button to go to the website and got this error:

An error has occurred

Non-closed brace or directive in template on line 1

This is the trace:
An error has occurred

Non-closed brace or directive in template on line 1 (version: 8-RC1, PHP version: 5.3.8, URL: /ocportal/index.php?page=start&keep_fatalistic=1)
You have turned on stack traces for all errors, via having keep_fatalistic=1 in the URL. This means that this may not actually be a fatal error, you have just asked for it to be presented as such (perhaps to help you find where it came from).

Expanded advice
A template is corrupt.

How did this happen?
The file may have uploaded incorrectly, or it may have been edited incorrectly.

Tempcode directives must end. i.e. For any {+START,…} there must be a {+END} somewhere later in the file.

Any kind of variable (parameter, symbol, language reference, or directive) must have a closing brace (}) corresponding to it's opening brace ({). e.g. {EXAMPLE,a,{B} is invalid and should be {$EXAMPLE,a,{B}}.

How do I fix it?
If you have mis-edited a template correct that error. If you can't because the template editor itself shows the error then open up ocPortal using the default theme and safe-mode by appending &keep_safe_mode=1&keep_theme=default to a URL then browsing to the editor as normal (or ?keep_safe_mode=1&keep_theme=default if the URL you are adding to it doesn't have any parameters on yet). The Setup Wizard asked you to bookmark the safe-mode URL so you may find it in your bookmarks if you're struggling.

You can use the 'Integrity checker' option within the upgrader to find a list of all corrupt files. You can access the upgrader by calling up the '/upgrader.php' URL on your site.

Once you have identified which files are corrupt you need to re-upload them. Download the manual installer from the ocPortal website that corresponds to your version, and then upload the files using an FTP client (or by some other means if you prefer).
Here is the stack trace:

Below is a stack trace revealing the state the software was in when the error occurred. If this represents a bug in the unmodified software, you may want to check ocPortal website for a fix, and if there isn't one, report this as a bug. Please note that merely posting a stack trace is not sufficient for us to solve your problem; the stack trace is just an aid that presents us with additional information. We still need to know the error message, what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, version numbers, and any other appropriate information.
We apologise for this problem and if it's a bug we hope you will work with us so that we can fix it for you promptly.

Thanks. I can confirm that. The workaround is to go to…

http://yoursite/adminzone/index.php?page=admin_menus&type=edit&wide=1&id=root_website and delete the 'Recommend site' option off there.
Avatar
Did as directed, there was no recommend site in the menu to delete, further more, when attempting to add to that menu the page goes a little weird, see bottom of image, index still shows same error message obviously!

Avatar
Meh, I am being so retarded, it works, I thought I would be faced with the appropriate menu from the link directly, selecting the site meni manually and deleting the recommend site jobbie works lovely.
Avatar
No, my advice was wrong. I forgot that the Setup Wizard moves the linked to a different named menu.

Regarding the menu editor, click the little red expandery button on the top left of the popout. I can see now that the layout redesign doesn't work well on non-huge screens.

Avatar
The togglable docking of the menu options was added to v8 so editing large menus is easier, as there used to be far too much scrolling up and down for it.

Now I've tightened it up so it works properly on more normal resolutions (as opposed to my huge mac screen I've obviously grown too used to)…

Calendar Issue:

I added a side block of "listing".

I created an event for April 1 from 8pm - 9pm EST. Everything looks dandy when viewing the calendar page of the event...

But what's this 4:00pm showing in my block?

Avatar
I also just noticed the date is wrong on the above attachment. It should read 2012-04-01 and not 2012-03-31.
Avatar
I also have a couple of issues with the calendar (side calendar block).

First, the all-day event I have on my live site shows April 9 2012 at 12AM. On my cloned testing site, it shows as April 9 2012, 7PM. Further, when clicking the link to check the settings, I get the following error:

Code

PHP NOTICE [8] Use of undefined constant CRYPT_SHA512 - assumed 'CRYPT_SHA512' in sources/support.php on line 1996 (version: 8-RC1, PHP version: 5.2.17, URL: /calendar/view/julian-and-hilde-ritter.htm?day=2012-04-09&date=2012-04&back=month)

I am actually getting the same basic error when checking catalog entries, blog entries and galleries.

For example:

Code

PHP NOTICE [8] Use of undefined constant CRYPT_SHA512 - assumed 'CRYPT_SHA512' in sources/support.php on line 1996 (version: 8-RC1, PHP version: 5.2.17, URL: /galleries/misc/photos.htm)

I've reported a similar issue not a few seconds ago. I'll need to go get the link if somebody is absolutely adamant that they wish to follow … !!
