This addon provides substantial Facebook integration for your ocPortal website.

  • User's can log in to your site using their Facebook profile (for OCF-sites only)
  • New Facebook Friends block (allows users to like your site and shows those that have)
  • New Facebook Site activity feed block
  • New Facebook Facepile block (shows people who like your site or have signed in using Facebook)
  • New Facebook 'Like button' block (linked into the main_screen_actions block

Thanks for the tremendous work involved in producing this addon which makes it easy to use existing Facebook accounts to login to websites and for adding useful Facebook social blocks.

There are several important  steps to follow to insure a successful installation of this carefully crafted addon .  I have written a  tutorial as a guide with enough details I hope to alleviate the apprehension  of a malfunction.

Before proceeding with the installation of this addon, know that It is crucial to create a new administrator account for use as a Facebook login. Subsequently logout of the current one and log back in with the newly created account for Facebook login.  If you otherwise ignore this advice , you may find yourself locked-out of your site if it is presently closed or when you eventually need to close it for admin purposes. For obvious security reasons, a Facebook associated account cannot login to a closed-down website. You should always have a Master Administrator Account not associated with any third party login method.

You will find the complete tutorial on the Community Docs.

Thanks Jean

Your step by step tutorial is great. I have the Facebook support installed and working perfectly.
I'm glad you found it useful!

Thanks for your comments! :)
