Well-settled

Hello All,

I installed ocPortal with no www in my domain

Now when I change to using www in Config editor, I cannot get back into the website to run the "Website cleanup tools".

Is there a way to change it without reinstalling ocPortal?

Thanks,

Robert W

If you mean you can't get the site to load at all after changing the base url to use www, check your .htaccess file (in the root folder of your web site) for a rewrite rule that might be stripping the www. That would cause the site to fail to load since it creates an infinite loop between the web server stripping the www from the url via the rewrite rule and ocPortal adding it back to the url. Some people add a rewrite rule to the .htaccess file to add or remove the www, but ocPortal handles that internally and doesn't need a www rewrite rule to be in the .htaccess file.

If you mean the site loads but you can't log in to the Admin Zone, you should be able to clear your browser cache and cookies (possibly restarting the browser afterward) and then you should be able to log in. If you use Internet Explorer, open your web site in a tab and, from that tab, press the F12 key on the keyboard. That will bring up another window at the bottom half of the browser. There will be a 'Cache' drop down menu in there that will let you clear the cache and cookies for just your web site domain so you won't lose the cookies for other web sites. I'm not sure, but you may also need to clear the Session Cookies from there too. When done, press F12 again to close that bottom window.

Jason,

I will look into the ".htaccess" file

Thank you for your response,
