I'm working on a site that has a Welcome Zone theme and a Distinct Site Zone theme. All Panel Top links use the Site Zone theme as assigned, except for "Recommend" which stubbornly insist on appearing on the Welcome Zone Theme. I do not seem to be able to change this as I cannot find the source.
Does anyone have a clue on how to change the theme used by the "Recommend" page?
Thanks for looking into this.

Hi,

There's the quick&dirty way, and the clean way.
Quick&dirty would be to move pages/modules/recommend.php to site/pages/modules/recommend.php. ocPortal's smart enough to adapt the link accordingly.

The clean way is to set up redirects…

This tells ocPortal that the site zone should have a virtual recommend module that feeds off the one in the welcome zone, and that the one in the welcome zone should redirect to the virtual one in the site zone. ocPortal is then smart enough to make links that search for the recommend module go to it's final destination, which is in the site zone.
It's better as moving modules affects ease of upgrading.

I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

I ended up doing it the quick and dirty way awhile back for mine. For some reason the clean way doesn't work for a few modules when I try. I even clear the cache's within ocPortal and on my computer.

This particular menu internally uses a page link of _SEARCH:recommend. Maybe your problem was other menu links had the zone specified in there.

Sorry for the late reply, as I was not at my computer today!

Many thanks Chris; the clean way worked immediately!

This is a wonderful way of taking care of things like this and up till now I did not quite understand its usage. Having a real need for a solution always helps put things in perspective.

Cheers!:)
