Well-settled

Hi there,

I'm right at the beginning of themeing, and for a start I saved a new theme based on a yellow theme I made from the default theme using the theme wizard. Then I enlarged the top margin, changed the top left logo and added a new background image to the header. I did so while watching the (excellent!!) video tutorial that covers the process. I had to upload the image files several times to get the design right and finally assigned the new theme to all zones but cms and admin zone.

Now I found that the new logo and background appear fine in website, personal and forum zones but the logo was not assigned to the collaboration zone, where the old logo (created by the logo wizard) is still shown. I re-assigned the theme to all (but admin and cms) by editing the theme and ticking the assignment-box, but the lastest logo still doesn't show in the collaboration zone.

Any hints where to start debugging something like this would be highly appreciated!

Have a nice one,
Lowlander

Go to 'manage theme images' for your theme and scroll down to 'logo'. You'll see multiple logos that are defined for each zone. Simply replace all those with the image(s) you want, and all will be well! :D

Hi,

thanks for the quick answer! I did as you said, replaced the URL for the logo/collaboration-logo image with the URL from the logo/-logo image, and the logo displays fine on the collaboration zone now.
I try to understand though why the correct logo did appear in website, forum and personal zones in the first place, by just uploading the new file to the logo/-logo image only and not touching their respective zone logos. Any idea?

Have a nice one!

I imagine the logo URL that's in the template is hardcoded in one of the source php files to display the appropriate theme image depending on which zone is being displayed. So the logo URL in the template is not actually referencing an image directly, but more code that decides which image is displayed…but this is just conjecture - I've never looked into it.

I thought replacing the file behind the theme logo (logo/-logo) is supposed to change the logo in all zones (which the theme is assigned to) in one go. I had not touched/re-assigned any of the individual zone logos before, so something must be different in (at least my) collab zone. I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks very much and have a nice one!
