Well-settled

I've just installed OCP 3.0.9 and I'm wondering if I can use my old 2.1.6 theme, or would it be incompatible with the new version?

Due to the major differences between ocPortal 2.1.x and 3.0.x, any custom themes will have to be manually ported to ocPortal 3.

You might want to install ocPortal 3.1.0, instead of 3.0.9, as it's newer.

and has much more features and from what I can see runs faster.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

This may be a daft question, but how would I go about manually porting it? Or do you mean I'll basically have to recreate the theme from scrath?

That's probably the best way of doing it, unfortunately. You should use a "diff" tool to see what differences there are between your custom 3.0.9 templates, and the default 3.0.9 theme, and then manually apply those changes to the 3.1.0 templates.
