Hello everyone

I have been having a play around OCP in an attempt to understand it, as i have fallen in love with the product.

although the theming is quite tricky when it comes to detailed specification.

Sorry about the title I didn't  know what to call this topic to be honest :-(

anyway, am trying to design the home page to look like a magazine style, and when you click the topic to "read more" you will see the full topic. But you will also see the default side panels designed in the home page. is the a away to design each page separately.

Home page Would have the panels.
Article page would have different panel boxes and settings.

Thank you.

Hello again,

I am trying to create a new zone and build my design from there. When i created the zone and called it "news" and then wanted to add a news block, its added, but when saving i get a message that it was successful and nothing appears !

am i doing it wrong or could it be a bug?

– I have reached an understanding that the news module is in the welcome zone, meaning that if you want to remove any panel in the news page you must remove it from the entire Welcome zone!

and i read the comment that recommends you not to move this module to another zone as it makes upgrade much harder, what could the solution be.

thank you very much in advance

Admin Zone > Structure > Redirects.

You can make pages run in multiple zones like this. You need to tick (check) the "transparent" option.

It's documented and there are a few topics here about it.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
