Problem: I wish to suppress the "No banners in the system - Add banner" message at the top of the page.
Rationale: I don't plan to sell ads. I think I deleted the default banners during setup. The above message appears on all non-admin (privileged) logins. I don't want regular members adding banners either.

Admin Zone → Security → Permissions Tree Editor → Zone Home → Module:banners (fourth module down) … scroll down to permissions at the bottom and remove 'View access' for all. That ought to do the trick …!!

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Navigated as you said, clicked on the +/- at the bottom of the screen which unchecked all the boxes.
Clicked on Set.

Refreshed Home page... the error message is still there.
Ideas?

Well-settled

You'd need to uninstall the banners addon, if you don't want it.

Clearing the cache should resolve it too after the permission thing you did

Went to Admin Zone / Tools / Website cleanup tools, then clicked on Them Images, Block Cache, and Template Cache -- after successful operation, checked website with member logged in - no difference, same error message still appears.

Then went back to Website cleanup tools, and checked *all* the boxes -- after successful operation, checked website page again - still no difference - error message still appears.

Is this then a bug? Is there a bug reporting facility in ocPortal (I am new here.)

I am about to try disabling/removing the Banners logon. Seems to be overkill, but oh well, whatever it takes.

OK, went to Admin zone / structure / addons, saw the list of addons, saw that banners had status of "installed", checked the uninstall checkbox for banners, clicked on Install/Uninstall Addons button at bottom, was shown a whole bunch of files about to deleted, and proceeded to delete them.

Went to member-logged-in website page and refreshed - error message is now gone!

That did the trick - thanks for the help.

Now I'll try to add your points, if I can figure that out too :-) ...
