Hi,

I've been using ocPortal for a day, and am loving it. The look I am going for has a very similar layout to the official ocPortal.com site. I have found a tutorial on how to set the width at 960, and put a logo across the top, but it get rid of the Zones menu.

(Thought I've had a few problems changing the logo which I've posted elsewhere about. Basically, when I shift ctrl alt click the logo, I get an error.)

How do I put a new menu across the width of the site, under the new, full width logo? I want it to contain the links to various pages (Home, Info, Gallery, Forum, etc.) - but then how will admin and moderators get access to the Content management pages too?

If the far right menu option was 'Logon/Register', is it possible for it to change to show 'Logout' once the user had logged on?

Finally, how would I then add a 'tree' of more menu options under this? i.e. when you click 'Info' another bar appears below with more specific topics on? Am I making sense? Is this too complicated? Would it be easier just to go to a menu page, and link from there?

Thanks!

I've just found the really useful tutorial section, which answers nearly all my questions.

Anyone know why when I hold down the ctrl+shift+alt keys and click the logo, I get:

The requested resource does not exist.

I just can't get rid of the logo I made with the logo wizard.

Thanks!

Oh no!  I've followed the width and banner tutorial.  Now I've got a width of 960, but no banner or zone menu at all!  I was expecting to lose the Zone menu, but not the banner/logo.

And does anyonw use this forum at all?  I feel like I'm talking to myself.  Can someone recommend a better ocPortal forum?

The ctrl+shift+alt thing is a known bug in the current patch release that we'll get fixed in the next patch release. That's taking longer to come out than I hoped as the team is really busy at the moment.

You can restore an edited template from the past revision from the editing screen. I'm afraid I can't really answer all your themeing questions myself (staff are available for paid support but not free I'm afraid) but it's all possible. I know the forum has been pretty quiet recently - best way to liven it up is to lead by example, see if you can answer anybody else's questions and hopefully then other's will have a stab at your own.

Thanks for the reply.

Is an inability to change the logo at all - even through the Style -> Theme Management, and select logo/-logo route also part of this bug?

Not a criticism - just it's really annoying not being able to change the logo.

And I wasn't expecting you to reply, Chris, as I know that you're busy working on the fix.  I was hoping others would.  And I'll happily answer other's questions - as soon as I know anything about ocPortal that other don't!

Hi,

Are you definitely editing the logo for the theme used by the site zone?

Sorted!  I replaced the uploaded logo I had created with one from the logo wizard, and then re-uploaded my picture, and it's now there!

I had earlier copied in the file from ocPortal.com - View topic: One of these with the name 'logo/-logo' already exists - I don't know if that has anything to do with it, I was being stupid, or it was simply a bug, but it's all sorted now and my site looks so much better!

Thanks for your help, and making a great system!
