I am working on a skin for some one and I ran into some thing I have not done before.
here is the site I am getting ideas from as they you ocportal as well.
StrategyCore.co.uk - Core Games for Strategy Gamers
I am not sure how they put the curved around the whole of the middle and included the side bar.
When I attempt to do this the bottom part of the middle end up under the bottom block.
The top looks fine though.
I was hoping to have a rough draft for this skin today but ran into this problem.
I might how ever get a few other parts done and show him that I am working on it.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Ok going to try and just put it around the center.
How ever I am having a problem with that.

Code

<div id="global_div" class="{$?,{$GET,fixed_width},global_middle_fixed_width,global_middle} dequirk" style="width: {$GET,middle_width}{+START,IF,{$NEQ,{$GET,left_width},0}}; margin-left: {$GET,left_width}{+END}{+START,IF,{$NEQ,{$GET,right_width},0}}; margin-right: {$GET,right_width}; margin-right: {$GET,right_width}{+END}">
      <div class="middle_border_left">
      <div class="middle_border_right">
      <h4 class="middle_border_top">&nbsp;</h4>
             <div id="global_div_inner">

            <div id="page_running_{$GET*,page}">

               {MIDDLE}

            </div>
    </div>
      </div>
         </div>
      </div>
Thats from the global template.

Code

.middle_border_left {
   background: url("{$IMG,border/borderleft}")0 0 no-repeat
}

.middle_border_right {
   background: url("{$IMG,border/borderright}") 100% 0 no-repeat
}

.middle_border_top {
   background-image: url("{$IMG,border/bordertop}");
   background-repeat: repeat-x
}
Thats from the global css.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Fan in action

Hi
Don't know if you have resolved this but they have used a mixture of foreground and background images to create the effect, good too !!
Check the page source with firefox, right click and view bg images.
All the page code is overlayed.

No I have not gotten any further on this and I have already done every thing you have mentioned well actually some of it is beyond the point of what I want to do.
I know your not trying to upset me but your post does not help me at all cuz it is every ting I already know.
I have made many skins for ocPortal and IPB so if you have an idea of how to do this I would be greatful.

I have told Kevin I am not yet finished with his skin but will continue to work on it.

What I have had to do to get this idea working is move all the content of the bottom template into the global template as it keeps either going up beside the left side block or below the navigation bar.
Do to moveing it in there I had to put every ting in a table so it stayed at the bottom as it was not staying. How ever doing that slowed the site down considerably and I know Kevin would not like that so I have had to do a whole new idea.
my idea is to skip making a box go around the whole thing as no one has been helpful on that and nothing I have done has worked.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.
