Images do not display on new comcode pages

I have tried for quite some time to fix this, but I'm at a stand still. I'm not ready to submit this as a bug as it appears that I'm the only one... Any help would be appreciated.

My images show up under the Edit-Comcode "preview" , but do not show up on the web page after I save.
This is true with Chrome or FireFox, and I am using a web-host provider.

I have the following code:

<img alt="" src="themes/Illumination/images_custom/2Untitled.jpg" style="width: 200px; height: 293px; float: right; " title="" />

which can be demonstrated at: http://illuminatenc.com/thomasville/GenPages/index.php?page=test

The same code does work on my home page however. Thank you anyone who has a minute to help!

I looked, but the only conclusion I could draw is that the image doesn't exist on your server.

How did you 'insert' the image:
  • using the 'upload' feature
  • using the 'attachment' feature
  • FTP direct
It would appear you used the first (above) from the way the file has been named. It may be that the javascript uploader isn't working for you.

Can you 'edit' the page and use the 'simple' uploader to see if the image goes up?

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Thank you!

I have been adding png's and jpg's from "Manage Theme Images" and then copying the URL from the "Edit Theme Images." This URL path works fine for the home page, but was not on new pages?... Anyway, using the full path from the server works great!

http://illuminatenc.com/thomasville/themes/Illumination/images_custom/2Untitled.jpg

Just a note: It didn't seem to matter what method was used, just that the full URL be used...

Thank you for your help!

Glad you got it to work!

I could go into a  looooooong boring explanation, but the first thing that jumps out is that the original URL you posted for the image doesn't match up with the final one.

I don't know where 'GenPages' fits into your scheme, but the image was being looked for in a 'custom_folder' under that tree, and it obviously wasn't there!

A good habit to get into before even starting to populate your website is to identify your links with the base-URL using the prefix {$BASE_URL}, e.g. …

Code

img url="{$BASE_URL}/themes/Illumination/images_custom/2Untitled.jpg"
… assuming your base URL (the one you entered as the base URL during installation) is:

Code

http://illuminatenc.com/thomasville

Does that help?
