Good afternoon, Dear Gurus!
There is a problem which to live doesn't hinder, but nevertheless there is a strong wish to win against it. After installation of a portal, the tab of settings of the rights of users (Global privileges) looks thus:

I found and at your forum, in learning materials a subject with the writing of a similar problem. After application of all councils, adding of a code by means of the console

I receive such picture
Prompt please, whether probably the solution of this problem in principle, or it can be possible to correct it in in the file which is responsible for this form. And whether in general it is worth contacting it?

Hi,

There are so many issues here :S. I've just been working through it all.

The main issue is not an ocPortal bug I think. I think your usergroups were not created when utf-8 was on, so the usergroup names are saved using HTML entities instead of the correct utf-8 characters. Assuming you now have utf-8 working, go back and edit them.
This may solve your main problem.

The instructions pasted above about fonts are wrong. We talk about one font needing replacing, then give instructions for a different font. We will correct these. Here is a hot fix:

0001778: A number of problems with vertical text with non-Western languages - ocPortal feature tracker

This hot fix will allow you to upload Courier New Bold Italic.ttf from your computer directly to data_custom/fonts/. ocPortal will then find that file and use it for the default fonts – no overwriting the renaming needed.

The hot fix will also support vertical text via CSS, for web browsers that support it (everything except IE8 I think). I tested on Firefox and Chrome, which were both a bit clunky, but it's better than the image-based solution we're currently using.

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Aha, I understood. In general at me everything is all right - fonts are displayed and need of replacement isn't present. The problem is what I don't have these two groups of users, so?

Maybe this will explain what I mean:
2015-01-26_2238 - ocProducts's library

If the usergroups were added when it wasn't utf-8, the text would have saved in a weird way (HTML entities, that &…; stuff).

If your site is now running utf-8 correctly it should just be a case of going through and re-editing. This should solve the screenshot you just posted too (I think our GD vertical text system is partially smart at decoding the HTML entities, but that wasn't intentional).

Yes, Chris, i too so think. I tried to add new group of users, it is displayed correctly. Besides, I tried to use the instrument of check of an elemnt of HTML and in him to correct a code. Here that at me it turned out:

Unfortunately, by means of this tool, I can't keep change, on it after updating of the page all will return to a starting position. Maybe I still will try to look these lines in the global.css file and to reconsider the translations in the *.ini and *.po files as the problem appears after the translation into Russian. By and large it is a trifle which doesn't prevent to live. In the whole OcPortal very much it is pleasant to me and completely arranges.

The above confirms what I thought. I'm still pretty sure you only need to edit the usergroups to put the names back in.

We have a language/communication barrier here I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure there's no bug, it's just you need to edit your usergroups.

If you don't think that's true, please can you show a screenshot of the start of your HTML source showing the character set, and a screenshot of your usergroup edit screen for one of the broken usergroups.

Anyone want to help me explain in other words?

Chris, I unfortunately very badly know English. the technical English concerning computers I can read and I understand, but to write and talk no, I understand that it is a problem, but I understood everything that you told and wanted to tell.

Hmm, okay, this has proved there's still a problem.

Are you able to give me admin access onto your site so I can look directly?

Chris, a problem is found. Most likely, I was fond of translate of system, I changed some files or the file. At least I recalled that recently you helped me with other site and there such problem wasn't. This problem is solved by you - issue #1770. Everything put only in one line of a code in file misc_scripts.php

Code

 $text=get_param('text',false,true);

Chris, many thanks to You. Also I ask to forgive for time which is taken away from you and my carelessness.

Oh. I'm surprised that fixes it, as that was about hack-attack notifications.

Anyway, glad it's sorted.

It's not time wasted, don't worry. Whenever I look over things with people I notice little things we can do better.

Dear Chris!
I am glad if I, incidentally, managed to be to you useful. I only study OcPortal, but this system very much is pleasant to me and I will always try to be to you useful.
