The little blue arrow icon (which you will find in quite a few places) will expand and contract content areas, or are you asking how to make it expanded by default?

A few changes needed to OCF_MEMBER_SCREEN_GIFTS_WRAP.tpl template:

Code

<div>
   <h2>
      <a class="toggleable_tray_button" href="#" onclick="return toggleable_tray(this.parentNode.parentNode);"><img alt="{!EXPAND}: {!OCGIFTS_TITLE}" title="{!CONTRACT}" src="{$IMG*,contract}" /></a>
      <span onclick="return toggleable_tray(this.parentNode.parentNode);">{!OCGIFTS_TITLE}</span>
   </h2>

   {$REQUIRE_CSS,gifts}

   <div class="toggleable_tray" style="display: block" aria-expanded="true">
      {+START,LOOP,GIFTS}
         <div class="box box___ocf_member_screen_gifts_wrap"><div class="box_inner">
            <div class="float_surrounder">
               {+START,IF_NON_EMPTY,{IMAGE_URL}}
                  <img src="{$THUMBNAIL*,{IMAGE_URL},50}" class="left float_separation" />
               {+END}

               {GIFT_EXPLANATION}
            </div>
         </div></div>
      {+END}

      {+START,IF_EMPTY,{GIFTS}}
         <p class="nothing_here">
            <span class="ocf_member_detailer_titler">{!NO_GIFTS_TO_DISPLAY}</span>
         </p>
      {+END}
   </div>
</div>

I didn't test, but think it'll work.

aria is an accessibility standard, provides meta-data for screen readers so that screen layout can be better understood.

Thanks it worked!  thanks for always taking the time out of your day to help!

If you have time I have a few more questions you might be able to help me with.

First where would i go to edit the the profile margins? i just want the lines/separators to be moved a little to the right some, closer to the fields.

and lets say if I wanted to add one of these

Had a little mess around and this is far from professional (I am sure Chris or Jason or someone else here could code this up better than I have) but I just wanted to see if I could do something, and I did do something relatively simple. I basically just used the ElastiSlide carousel from dCodes and tried to make it work. I had to set the images to a fixed height and width which distorts the guitar image in particular. A proper matching set of gift icons would suit this idea better. I removed the show/hide toggle, as it seemed pointless with this display. I had difficulty linking the image back to the gift givers profile and setting the gift message as a title, so all this does is grab the images and displays them in a similar fashion to what you requested. Because the relevant files are hosted at dCodes, all you really need to is replace OCF_MEMBERS_SCREEN_GIFT_WRAP.tpl with the following code:-

Expand: Show Code Show Code

The result will be something like;-

Not the final solution, but an example that someone may improve...

Here is your code I set it on width 64 height 64 to accommodate my icon/gift settings.Thanks for the hard work put in!!

Was wondering if you could use the code in the comcode assistant :carousel

as you see i did it for the icons.. was wondering if this code is possible to use to scroll the gifts on the profile? I think it slides better than your gallery code you referenced.. but i dont know how exactly to implement it with my gifts on my members profile.

I am sure you could use the Comcode carousel with the right knowledge, but I lack it. Using the dCodes library was much simpler. It wasn't the best example but I am glad you have found it useful. At least until a better solution is presented.

Try this in the OCF_MEMBER_SCREEN_GIFTS_WRAP.tpl template:

<div>

    <h2>{!OCGIFTS_TITLE}</h2>
    <div style="height:160px;width:100%">
       {$COMCODE,[semihtml][carousel]{$TEMPCODE,{+START,LOOP,GIFTS}&nbsp;<img height="150px" width="150px" valign="middle" src="{$THUMBNAIL*,{IMAGE_URL},150}" />&nbsp;{+END}[/carousel][/semihtml]}}
    </div>

    {+START,IF_EMPTY,{GIFTS}}
        <p class="nothing_here">
        {!NO_GIFTS_TO_DISPLAY}
        </p>
    {+END}

</div>

Using the {$COMCODE} directive you can embed comcode tags in templates. In this case, we also need to embed the tempcode LOOP into the [carousel] comcode tag. We can use the {$TEMPCODE} directive to do that.

Yes, I am working with Ocportal on another website for transgender community, my friend she is working on transitioning, and she need someplace to communicate and build a foundation outside of facebook

I am setting her up with ocportal once I learn completely how to tweak and work with it. For my community I use Joomla bc I already know it been working with it for years,  and invision board, which works well with what I need I also use addon chat i love it custom chatrooms, I do pay, but its worth it!

so setting it up and understanding how OCportal works is still a work in process =) thanks again for always helping!
