Find the main font coloor in the global.css

Hi everyone, this my first attemp at changing the theme for OC so you will see a lot more questions from me.

I have worked out most of the CSS but for the life of me I can't find the main font color that is used for the welcome message. is the a complete list as to the CSS and what they do.

Look at my site and you can see what I mean. Random As site

Lots more to go yet.

We don't have a CSS map at the moment. What I do myself is I use the Theme Wizard, then tweak it. To find a CSS classname I'd look at the HTML source and see what the HTML is using, then go back to the CSS when I found it. Sometimes we haven't set up classes if things don't have their own special styling; in that case you need to go into the templates and specify a new div around something, or put a classname into an existing div.

For the specific case of the main_greeting block (I think this is what you're looking for), there actually isn't any special templating or CSS for it. The parameter to the block is Comcode, so you could use the [font] tag to change the colour of the text that way.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks Chris,

I set the wizard to dark colors and the text is good now.
