This is what the display changes to. As the name implies, 'Cool', huh? The problem for me is that my members appear to either forget or ignore that there is a space for them to insert a pic of themselves. Or perhaps they are simply the shy type! Whatever the reason, the display ends up with a lot of 'blank' place-holders which doesn't appeal to my aesthetic demands. So, I cranked up Photoshop and came up with an alternative. Like so: I substituted the image thumb__80x80__pad__both__faf5ef__no_image.png that you can find in <yoursite>/uploads/website_specific with the new one, and now I am reasonably satisfied. I think it will display equally as well on a light background, and if anyone wishes to use it, feel free to take the download and enjoy. The image is of my own making, so there is no danger of any copyright issue.
Take my advice. I'm not using it!

The 'no_image' call is in OCF_POSTER_DETAILS.tpl, line 23, and looks like this:
#faf5ef is the default background colour set by the developers which you can change to the background colour of your page so that it blends in (I changed my bg to the site colour #395a6f), so that it all sits neatly within the 80x80 thumbnail size that the script builds for you, e.g. You'll need to hunt through your /uploads/website_specific directory for the 'no_image' file. I think it should have been generated when you activated the add-on, but if it didn't, you can actually insert your own image, but title it the same as the other images already in there following the same convention, e.g. … the 395a6f is my colour, so you will need to adjust that to the one you changed in OCF_POSTER_DETAILS.tpl for your own site. Also, take note of the DOUBLE underscore character that separates items in the image 'name'. Does that help?
Take my advice. I'm not using it!

ocPortal AND browser. Those are thumbnails and have a habit of 'hanging on'.
Take my advice. I'm not using it!

One thing I've noticed is that there is a discrepancy between your JavaScript and mine, the most obvious being that the 'img' isn't being called in your script.
Perhaps somebody with a bit more insight may be able to throw some light on the matter, and perhaps that is the starting point … ??
Take my advice. I'm not using it!

I uploaded the image then changed this in global.css Code
.lightborder {
So I could have a bit lighter background. This is the result: Oh ya, like Harry said : the member has to upload a photo because it doesn't show the users avatar. |
