Well-settled

Here's something simple I've been trying to do since OC Portal 4 but I can't figure out how.

I have a catalogue with a single entry, using it to call 3 Youtube codes (the random codes after v?=) and give them a title. So I have 6 fields, names Youtube Code 1, Youtube Title 1, etc.

I have a YouTube jquery player in my front page which I hardcoded the links on it. What I need to do is pass these values from the catalogue entry to the that player.

Is there any way I can call the value of a field from a single catalogue entry?
For example taking field_0 value from catalogue id 7706 from catalogue "front_page_youtube"?

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Wow, this is worth upgrading to 8 alone... Any chance I could grab that function and make it work on the latest 7 release?

Google CATALOGUE_ENTRY_FIELD_VALUE, it will find you the file in github, you can try transplanting that file, might work.
