Intro:

Despite the thread at View topic: Commercialism discussion (split from "Need some free support?") - ocPortal.com, I am sufficiently enamoured with ocPortal to continue to try to 'give back' to the community, in a very small measure, some of the satisfaction and enjoyment I have experienced using this CMS.

The Theme - March 2013, v.9.0.6

Walking the dog a few days ago I saw this:

What struck me most forcibly was the blending of colours (green/gold/silver) and the 'grunge' nature of the main colour scheme. To me, this simply had to be reproduced for a website. So I 'stole' Harry's fundamental 'photographic website' ideas and went to work.

Achieving the effect was easier than I anticipated; HTML5 and CSS3 to the rescue! Not a single image-pixel was used for the design element, which is an outrageous claim for a colourful 'Photo' site. Of course, you can't avoid images when you need to display photographs, but not needing images for the design element has got to be good for load times!

ocP PSD Buttons:

There are other pages I could display, but I think there are enough here to give a prospective user an idea of what to expect if the theme is used without any alterations. And that includes the use of the Admin Zone and CMS Zone that are traditionally set to the default display - often for good reason!

For the more adventurous (or more competent), overall colour changes can be achieved by editing the CSS. Please be aware that you CANNOT use the 'Theme Wizard' to arrive at 'seed-colour' changes. The reason: the theme started out in the 'Theme Wizard' mirroring the default theme!

The theme includes all the style images used in the demo, but not the user images that I have used to demonstrate the various layouts.

All the default button images (found in: /themes/fotografia/images_custom/EN/page, /pageitem, /chatcodeeditor, /comcodeeditor) have been changed to shades of 'green' in the Web2.0 style so that they integrate into the theme. If a prospective user wishes to change these buttons to a colour of their choice please ask for the original PSD files as the PNG files cannot be adapted.

The theme includes 'panel(s)' and 'start page(s)'. The user installing the theme will get a choice whether to take the Comcode pages or not, and if they choose to do so, their own pages will be backed up as the last revision. The following panel(s) and start page(s) have been included:
  • : panel_left
  • : panel_right
  • : start
  • adminzone/: start
  • : rules
  • site/: panel_left
  • site/: panel_right
  • site/: start

All requests for help with this theme should be made in this forum, and I will attempt to resolve your issue immediately (if not sooner), time zone delays notwithstanding!

Enjoy!

Thanks, Harry. I had hoped it would appeal to you, especially since I 'stole' your basic idea(s). I know the colour scheme is a bit 'bright' for your taste, but I also know that if you use it you can very easily tone it down.

Enjoy!

P.S. Thanks for the points. You must have more than you know what to do with them …

You have done it again, Fletch!

Your color palette is beautiful and fresh.
Your themeing technique is precised and shows lots of attention to details as usual.

Thanks for sharing your hard work!

Thanks, Jean.

The encouragement from regulars is always welcome, but more so from the likes of you, Harry, and Duck.

This is a small way of 'giving back', and I hope it helps the staff in some small way when the trolls complain that they don't offer alternative themes. If only the trolls would spend their time being 'constructive'!

But I guess that isn't in their nature …!!

P.S. Thanks for the points.
