These themes are provided for download in TAR and ZIP versions.

Use the TAR version (you'll find it in the Themes section) if you import the theme as an ocPortal 'add-on' from the Adminzone.

Use the ZIP version (see below) if you prefer to handle the download manually. Download the ZIP version to your computer, unzip it, and upload the theme to your 'themes' folder, maintaining the structure as provided. It is not necessary to upload the PSD and FONTS files. They are provided for your convenience when editing the logos, headers, backgrounds and block gradients.

The themes are heavily modified versions of the ocPortal default theme, and will change the display of your currently installed default theme, but they will NOT automatically display as shown on the Demo Site.

All the themes are fixed-width themes of 980px. Some use a full 980px width for a combined logo/header display. Others have a fixed 980px header background with a logo superimposed on top. It is up to you to decide how you wish your headers and logos to display and adapt the CSS accordingly.

The golbal.css file is the default which has had modifications added or 'commented out'. Where necessary, and where the possibility for confusion exists, these edits have been 'commented upon'. In some themes other CSS files may have also been modified, and they will also indicate this by displaying comments against the revisions.

The themes rely heavily on the new HTML5 and CSS3 standards. Some browsers are incapable of interpreting this markup, however, where a browser cannot decipher the new code the display will degrade gracefully. In other words, the user will miss out on the 'clever little tricky bits', but that is their personal choice!

All the themes display a 'floating social media bar' that is NOT ocPortal standard code. It has been inserted into the HEADER.tpl that has been placed in the 'templates_custom' folder. If you prefer not to use this feature, delete HEADER.tpl from the 'templates_custom' folder. If you choose to retain the media bar, please remember to carefully diff-check all future upgrades of HEADER.tpl and add the relevant code into the new version!

All the themes display the Javascript version of the 'Tag Cloud'. These extra files are also found in the 'templates_custom' folder. If you do not wish to use this feature, delete BLOCK_SIDE_TAG_CLOUD.tpl and JAVASCRIPT_TAG_CLOUD.tpl from the 'templates_custom' folder.

In the unlikely event that you experience difficulty installing or maintaining a theme, leave a message here in this forum. I visit daily and am only too happy to respond.

Enjoy!

Easily done, but I'll need to slice another image if you or your team demur.

Do let me know.

This is so cool, Fletch!

Thank you for sharing this huge body of work with the world. I can appreciate the enormous amount of efforts needed to produce something like this with so much attention to details, not only in its presentation, but also on the information available for its proper installation.

I particularly like the "Brave New World" theme for the good looking bunch of Innovators/Adventurers highlighted on its Header, and for the subtle use of transparency in its design with a perfect combination of its color palette. Everything about this theme reflects the idea of a strong corporate image travelling at the formidable speed of our time. I am sure that the symbol of team work it implies will be picked up by corporate users who will change "Our Stars" with their own. This theme for me is truly inspired!

Well Done!

Thanks for the kind words Jean.

I particularly enjoyed working on the "Brave New World", but I was horrified at its final upload size. That's because of the bundled images, including the PSDs, and shouldn't affect a browsers load times.

Nevertheless, if I was offered a download of that size, simply for a theme, I'd baulk.

One learns by one's mistakes, I guess!

Hi Fletch!
Classy stuff, my friend! Thanks for the contributions - I'm already picturing one for an update of one of my personal sites.

Thanks!

You're very welcome, Erich.

Send a link when the changeover is completed. It would be interesting to see the theme used on a working site!

ARGHHHHHH…!!

I see the weakness of offering a 'one-size-fits-all' download. However, in my defence, I assumed a user would take the 'base' theme and adjust (add or remove) the panels as they wished.

Offering separate flavours (left_panel, right_panel) versions of the same theme would tend to overload ocP servers because, to make them work out of the box, all the graphics files would need to be included for each version.

If you still want a specific display (left_panel or right_panel) and you are unsure how to achieve it, PT me and I will talk you through the procedure.

I'm upgrading my site to ocPortal 8 RC 5, and I'm having trouble upgrading the Sunset theme. A lot of the css files come up flagged in the theme test as no recognized from version 7? How can I fix this?

It also says it will process it anyway, right ;). The theme upgrader is pretty good at dealing with what is thrown at it, all the ocProducts themes were upgraded with minimal trouble.

I tried that a few times now with my site and I always get a major stack error as soon as I reopen the site.
