Hi all,

It's long overdue that we give an update on version 4.4.

4.4 will introduce a large number of small new features, and fix quite a few bugs that have been reported to us since 4.3.2. It's going to be a really good, worthy, release. And it's going to come with a huge number of new addons hosted on ocPortal.com (believe me, you're going to love what we've written!).

We did actually plan to release 4.4 a few weeks back, but things have delayed it. It's a good kind of delay though, because there's going to be a whole lot in it that was not originally going to be, including a number of design updates, and lots of additional features (sneaky people can see which features by looking at what tasks have been closed on the tracker).

Boring explanation for delay

The reason for the delay is that we need to pass this release through our quality control process, but we have ongoing work going on creating things we are calling 'screen previews' (it's not a blocker to releasing 4.4, but it's still happening within the codebase, so we have to wait for it either to be finished [soon], or a chunk of time when it's paused).

Chris

Community saint

Good to know and looking forward to 4.4. I am a bit nervous though if it will mean that my current theme will work or not, like after the last ocPortal chance, from 4.2 I think it was or wa it from 4.1…

It doesn't matter though lol, I am sure any changes that need to be made theme wise will be minor.

We're trying to minimise that issue.

Fan in training

Is 4.4 going to be released soon? Only reason I ask is because I'm having trouble downloading the current version, or it connecting to my server to do it manually.
