There should be a field in the submission entitled "Author". This should be the submitter. What type of content are you referring to?

Just about any content which needs to be validated by an admin or staff such as: Quizzes; image of the day; catalogues; banners; polls…

There is no Author field at creation for these and none to see when the admin has to edit them.

Please accept my apologies for not having qualified my request better and my thanks to SoccerDad for reminding me about the author field on some of the submitted documents.

The email advice for the image submission only mention the user (no id)
Website submission requiring validation
A user has added an entry into the database.
The entry is currently in a non-validated state and will not become active until it is edited to be validated.
Please either delete the entry or edit it.
Details… Type Add image

I've included the following thumbnail comcode of an image and Poll Submission below this line, but somehow it does not show them. Here is the code I've used linked to via the 'Add block' button on the Comcode page editing screen

Code

[thumb caption="Image Submitted"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/jeanaruba/Editimage.gif[/thumb]
[thumb caption="Poll Submitted"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/jeanaruba/Editpoll.gif[/thumb]
(Chris– Fixed bug)

Image Submitted
Poll Submitted

The Image, Poll, and Quiz submissions have no author field, but there is a Note field, which could be used to identify the submitters, if I insist it be used for that purpose. It is not as convenient as the automatic author field, but it will solve my problem until I learn how to manipulate the form template to add the author field comcode if such a possibility exist.

Please let me know if I still miss anything.
Thanks

Hi,

I've read this, and there is currently no feature for what you would like to do other than what you've identified. We'll consider it as feedback.

Regards,

Chris

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
