Hi,

I'm a moderator to my university's forum and I talked the admin to give ocPortal a chance, however, he doesn't have formal training for this things and we ran into a problem that won't solve itself unless I find a way to help him. :|

When he tried to install it he first had to change some folder and password since FTP way wasn't working well… I'm just saying what he said to me, I don't really understand what happened. Anyways, instalation went through to the end, but when he's supposed to configure it this message comes out :

ocPortal error

This is an error that has been elevated to critical error status because it occured during the primary error mechanism reporting system itself (possibly due to it occuring within the standard output framework). It may be masking a secondary error that occured before this, but was never output - if so, it is likely strongly related to this one, thus fixing this will fix the other.

PHP NOTICE [8] Undefined index: OCF_DRIVER (version: 4.1.10, PHP version: 5.2.9, URL: /ocportal/index.php)

Details here are intended for the website/system-administrator, not for regular website users. If you are a regular website user, please let the website staff deal with this problem.

Depending on the error, and only if the website installation finished, you may need to edit the installation options (the info.php file).

ocProducts maintains full documentation for all procedures and tools. These may be found on the ocPortal website. If you are unable to easily solve this problem, we may be contacted from our website and can help resolve it for you.

I'd appreciate any help. Tnx.

Sounds like the same as this problem:
ocPortal.com - View topic: 4.1.10 set up wizard error.

There's a possible fix in that topic.

However, it'd help to have some more info - what forum driver is he using?

He will have selected a forum to use when he installed. E.g. "phpBB", "OCF (inbuilt forum and members)", "no forums or members".

Ok, he got phpBB.

But he made a separate database for OC since he didn't want to place the same one as our existing forum out of fear not to break something…Each other has a db of it's one.

He will, but… is he supposed to copy/paste that users.php into folder or manually edit some entries? Sorry for being this dumb, but I don't really understand this things :$

Save that file over the existing sources/users.php file.

We have yet another problem :(

When I log in i can see this on main page :

Site statistics
∙ Community:
∙∙ Members: 3,105
∙∙ Topics: 940

and I can log in with my account. However, I can't access the admin panel. The other guy can, but he doesn't have all the functions (like add user, edit user, etc.). (we are both administrators on the forum, but I don't have root access to server)

When I click on link 'forums' it goes to http://belimantil.info/ocportal/medforum and I get 404 Not Found, but the actuall adress would be medforum • Index page .

Does it have to do with something there two separate databases or what? Help, please.

I've read in tutorial there are differences in phpBB and OCP administor groups so I told that buddy to manually add me to administrators group, but he can't edit members' status because he can't access that function…

This is what he sees when click on Tools pic

As far as I understood, there should be Admin by default and the pass was chosed during instalation, I hope he didn't mess up sth with that..uhh. I'll just now have to talk him in to this if you think it's right thing to do?

If he's installed with phpBB then he will need to use phpBB to manage users and usergroups. ocPortal draws all this from phpBB. The passwords chosen at installation are not related to the Admin Zone - he will have chosen the 'master password' which is for something else.
It looks like he entered the wrong forum URL when he installed but this can be changed.

Um.. but I'm already an admin at phpBB but I can't access OCP as admin.. He can access admin panel, but doesn't have all the functions (I recon it recognizes him as a moderator)

What is to be done with phpbb if present admin group doesn't work?

but he doesn't have all the functions (like add user, edit user, etc.).

These functions would not be there if OCF (our own forum) was not used, so it's likely that he is an admin.

For your case, ocPortal takes admin privileges from the 'user rank', not from being in an admin group. I haven't used phpBB in a while but I believe if he edits your user he'll be able to change you to an administrative ranks.

Eh, sorry, still got some problems.

We've changed forum base url to "ttp://medforum.belimantil.info", without backslash, did comcode page cache and menu to index.php?page=forums.

However, profiles can't open and I get "ttp://medforum.belimantil.info/profile.php?mode=viewprofile
&u=1798" and the embeeded forum displays just header of the forum. I guess it's sth with adressess… OCP is at belimantil.info/ocportal and the forum is medforum.belimantil.info

But during all this we can see point leader board

Hi,

You have found a bug this time. It seems in phpBB3 'profile.php' because 'memberlist.php' and we didn't update our forum driver to compensate.
Fix attached.
