Rememberingnorthport.com. A community site where past, present and future residents can connect

We recently developed this site as a way to re connect the community.  It's very basic now, it's a work in progress.  I am having an issue regarding on of the forum group/category is not displaying to members, it displays fine to me as the  admin, in either browser, ie and mozilla.  I need help to figure out why all but one forum group/category is displaying to members, any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Yes the site is here:
Village of Northport Memory Lane

I know this is off topic, but does anyone also know how to remove the validation requirement for posts, for some reason I am not getting the email alert about posts needing validation (yes it's selected in the config).  I noticed a new post but not yet posted because it needed validation.  I think it's a permission issue, I need to know where to make the changes.

Never mind, made some changes for the permisisons on validation, but now one of the forums is protected and the basic member can't access it, it's viewable but does not open.

I have not played enough yet wit the system to offer good advice but I would say this if your sure the permissions are correct (and the member is not a member of a group that may have confilcting permissions ) the first thing I would do is make sure the member cleared cache and cookies. If that doesnt work then permissions need a proper going over. I unfortunately am not able to acess my test site at the moment to go  digging to give you advice and I am way to new for off the top of my head knowledge of where to look sorry. Someone with more knowledge I am sure will help soon. But in the mean time dig into those permissions. The answers there somewhere!

The easiest way to track down permissions issues (namely, what permission was denied) is to use the permissioncheckslog feature. Check out the following post:
