Well-settled

Hi guys,

I would like to present my idea I have been working on for some time and it has been published these days, finally.

I noticed that there were not many portals dedicated to female population. Women sites are news or blogs only (online versions of print magazines, mainly). But I'm going to establish a full portal for our ladies.

After some time of testing many CMS systems I decided to use ocPortal as the portal engine.

Of course, one of the main non-technical obstacles was a domain name. Somehow a Latin word for a women/female came to my mind and the name was born - Femina Portal (FeminaPortal.com). Easy to remember, the same pronunciation in all languages, no double letters… Perfect! Luckily, and surprisingly at the same time, domain was free so I grabbed it (actually I grabbed them all, see below)

Currently, Femina Portal has only forum, but later there will be blogs, news etc. And of course, e-commerce at the end. The idea is first to strengthen .com site in English and if everything goes well, I will start Femina Portal in other languages, too. I bought almost all main domains extensions for different languages, more than 20 ;) Theme wizard did the job so for now I don't consider design changing.

From my side, I will continue testing ocPortal and reporting issues, at the same time thinking about possible features that could be sponsored. Also, I will promote ocPortal on Femina Portal itself as well as writing articles on my blog www.inforbiro.com/blog

Congratulations on launching your site.

Regarding sponsorship of new features, please make sure you review the list in the tracker. I seem to recall a couple from you in there.

Thank you, guys.

BobS,

I'm going to wait v8 regarding sponsorship of new features, because I'm still not sure what needs I will have. However, I'm focused to forum currently, but we'll see…

I'm following the tracker ;)

That's what I like hearing. To me, the tracker is just as much a part of the ocPortal community as are these forums.
