I've also got a quick question as I've just installed ocportal and like the system, I've just tried to upload an image of the day and it won't upload the jpg file, I've set it to 2 megs and the image is 1.19, I just get a poppup panel saying " and error accured in uploading. try again later" Any idea's were I'm going wrong?

Any help apreciated..

Is there anything in ocPortal's error log about it?

If you type closed in the admin zone top-right search it should take you to the option. Else Admin Zone > Setup > Configuration > Site options.

That search box in the upper right corner of the admin zone will be very useful. But we are here to help too.

Welcome to ocPortal! No worries about asking questions, that's what a support forum is for, for us to support one another.

The deploying forum, for example, practically invites questions of all kinds regarding ocPortal use and deployment. There is no such thing as a stupid question, except of course the question that goes unasked. In other words, it is better to ask a question and get an answer than to worry about what others might think of the question and stay confused.

Like ocPortal? Want to thank Chris and gang somehow? Then help out in the chat room! It really needs your help! Just open it in a tab everytime you open your web browser, and when you hear a "ding", check it out!

Thanks guys apreciate the welcome….Another question is:

Is there an easier way to change text colour:
Rift Wise
As you can see at my site theres alot of different colours and I can't quite pick out the right ones to change in the ccs files and just wondering if theres a less time consuming way to do this?

If you use FireFox, get the Firebug addon. Then you can easily see what css area to look in. You'll be in the global.css … but firebug will help you narrow where in the css file to look.

Forgive the tardy 'Welcome'. Engrossed in other webby things.

Your site looking good. Put the URL in your sig and we can all click it from time to time to keep up with the build.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

No Problem. link now in sig, I also sorted out my nick on my own forum and set the spacing to 0.5 as that puts my full nick on one line, rather than broken in 2, fire bug came in right handy to find things in the css file, otherwise it would have taken weeks to sort out.

I think we all fall back to it (Firebug) to drill down to the core of whatever we are looking for, but it is worth knowing that similar tools exist with the other browsers if you wish to use them:
  • IE - Developers Tools - (F12)
  • Chrome - (Spanner)>>Tools>>Developers tools - (CTRL+SHFT+I)
  • Opera - View>>Developers tools>>Opera Dragonfly - (CTRL+SHFT+I)

n.b. The Dev Tool in IE is designed to open in a new window, linked to each tab for which it is called, but you can pin it to the bottom of the window, just like Firebug, by hitting CTRL+P

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Hi everybody, and welcome to codebreaker. I used to use the signature I stole from Fletch… take my advice, I am not using it.  :o  Now I only say things such as, destroyer of stuff, breaker of things. If it works, I can break it.

Thanks for the F12, and other info Fletch. I did not know that.  :$
