Self introduction

Hey guys, I came here looking for a system with which to build a roleplaying forum integrated into a more complete website and boy did I ever find what I was looking for.

I'm probably going to be experimenting with OCP for months making adjustments and figuring out how everything works together.

So in short, it's good to be here, and I'm looking forward to getting a better grasp on OCP to provide my future players with the best experience possible.

It's good to be aboard Fletch. It's just a little overwhelming working with all these features compared to what I'm accustomed to.

Yes it is, but don't allow frustration to creep in. 'Lateral thinking' are the buzzwords you will need to keep in mind, especially when compared to other CMS's you have used.

Ask in here, and you can bet somebody will jump in and offer a solution. Most have dealt with similar headaches before!

I read that earlier. Not something I've attempted. Well above my pay grade. But I'm sure somebody else will pick up on it.

And since it is nearly 5 a.m. here, I think it is time I went to bed!

Oh snap my bad. I did neglect to mention that didn't I Friendly. It's Washington State, near Tacoma actually.

Edit: and thanks Fletchy, I'm in no huge rush. If somebody knows anything about my request I'm sure they'll speak up. During my days lurking here I've noticed the community seems rather forthcoming.

Hi Lukkassu,
Welcome to this community!
I'm sure that the numerous tools included with ocPortal will help you create wonderful roleplaying worlds;  ocWorld is a good one to investigate.

Cheers!

ocWorld IS an interesting idea Jean, but at this point I'm not really prepared to mess with it. Later on though, if time allows, I'll see if I can take advantage of it for anything. (The one use I do have in mind is as sort of a mapping tool, creating a visual representation of various areas/buildings for players.)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Greetings!

I use ocPortal for my RPG site, have been for quite some time. It works wonderfully if you ask me. Yeah, it is a little overwhelming at first, but the learning curve is more than worth it.

I would rather have to learn where things are and what things do in ocPortal, than restore or upgrade joomla + 100+ add-on's anyday, if you ask me lol.

Legends of Nor'Ova: A site powered by ocPortal; home of the Legends of Nor'Ova tabletop RPG wiki and community.

Like ocPortal? Want to thank Chris and gang somehow? Then help out in the chat room! It really needs your help! Just open it in a tab everytime you open your web browser, and when you hear a "ding", check it out!
