Well-settled

Hi, I'm really new to ocPortal (actually to any cms) . I have tried many cms software over the last 4 months and after many trails and errors I have completely confirmed to myself that ocPortal is by far the easiest to learn. So I guess I'm here to stay :)

Am I the only Canadian here  ?

Lisbon, Portugal.

Oh, sorry, that's slightly east of Canada. Probably your closest European neighbour.

Welcome, anyway!

Welcome Tisnart!

Sorry, not Canadian. I don't get to be awesome enough to claim that status.

Welcome Tisnart!

I too went of in search of the "cms" after having played with ocportal a couple of revisions back.

However, I've also come to the same conclusion.

And so, I'm back again.

Yep, I do believe that this is by far the best cms out there right now!

Fellow Canuck From Whitby Ontario (just outside Toronto) here. Just found ocPortal today for the first time and I am no CMS noob. While I've spent most of my time with various flavours of Nuke I have dabbled with at least 20 or more different CMS I think and never came across this (that I can recall) before. Did practically them all - Drup, joom, mam, mod, wp, post, simp, conc5, etc etc and all of them have their merits indeed. I spent most of my time with Nuke cause I started with it many years ago and it was nice and simple and I learned to develop and customize it very easily. I was always wanting something more though. Something a little more framework like to improve development lifecycles but remain simplistic in interface so learning curves don't replace time saved in development cycles. Modular enough to shave and add whats needed in whichever environment when needed. While I haven't had enought time to really learn what is ocPortal at first glance this looks to be the closest thing to the perfect CMS I have always been looking for.  What excites me just as much is the philosophy of the organization behind it. While determining it will be commercially driven for development they are committed to ensuring it remains Opensource and completely free! No silly Pro package options etc just honest straightforward approach embracing the true spirit of opensource. That as much as the looks of the package itself is very exciting to me. Here's hoping my excitement grows as I learn more and I hope I am able to contribute in some to the projects future! Cheers!
