I am Leon, also know as Katana, with and without the clan tag GFR, which stands for Ground Force Recon, a group off online addicted gamers.

My choice for OCP was easy made back in the v1.x time, easy to handle / administer and i hated nuke and all the other portals out there. Since then i always used OCP, and had a great time using it.
Then my mission to Iraq was due, and i still tryed to get involved as much as possible.. Even tho the first 2 and  ahalf months i never really could acces the internet.. After that v2.x was rolling in BETA phase and it was my pleasure to be on the BETA team, even tho i couldnt help out much due to certain circumstances, wife pregnant / base beeing closed ( That's Seedorf for those thatmight have followed it ), and thus most of the testing was done by the rest of the team. After that DJ BuzzFuzz and me worked on a Dutch Translation for V2.x and that is still working.

Currently im working on Dutch Translation v3.x and i hope to have it finished in the upcoming 2 weeks, i love this system and with this i want to contribute my gracefullnes towards the Staff of OCP, who always supported me with all the stupid questions i asked in the past couple of years…

My site can be found there>  TeamGFR

hmm Hot, sandy, Smelly, and thrilling sometimes..
Its hard to explain the feelings you have there to someone "on the outside"

It feels like youre in a totally other world then you could ever imagine.. You can get some preparation by watching the news and all that, but that doesnt prepare you for the smell, impressions and alot of other things.
One thing that always are needed is some knowledge of the language.. Its quite hard to learn Arabic as westerner, but is manageble.. All i learned was to tell people to p**s off, offcourse in some more apppropiate manner. Depending on the way you said it, and in which order you placed it it varied from Please go till p**s off.
And that's all i need, i need to be able to say "hello"  and be able to tell them to get away. For the rest there are translators..

I did have quite a good time there for the most parts, sometimes it was some less, and other times were fuller with joy, just like real life but then more intens…
I feel im lucky that i didnt got in any major firefights, and i wish to keep it that way.. One time  we got fired upon my driver froze… And i had to slap him on his head to wake him up.. I even pushed down his leg to throttle up.. that sucks, after that when i had to go out with him, either i drived, or someone else drove me..

Offcourse in my profession the risk is always there that i will be shipped out again, and if they call me upon, i'll go. I dont mind if it would be Lebanon ( the next big UN mission, 2nd time there then… ), which will come imo or Afghanistan. i'd rather go to 1 of these area's then Bosnia. Not because i want to be in a warzone, but i like to be in a area were there is work.. And in Bosnia most of the work is done. In iraq i was with the 3rd mission of The Netherlands (SFIR3) and that was the first for the Army, before us the Marines have been there. And we had lots of work.
And thats what i rather got, work your ass off and go bed tired and fullfilled, then p.e. in Bosnia, were there just isnt that much work on the base and the surroundings..

dang, this gotta be one of the longest posts i ever (!) made on any forum….

*edit* im not even allowed to say that i told people to pee off.. ;) I like the bad word filter
