Thanks for warm welcome, im sure i find my seat in this community :)

Ive been reading this:

over and over, and i must re-phrase it as it sounds wrong/rude…
It's sometimes difficult to type something what im saying because english is not my main language.

I ment my site on that, i ment that i don't care what search engines think about my site. While i was on work and having coffee break i was reading forums and thinked "OMG, that don't sound what i ment by it, and i must "fix" it when im back home"

Now its fixed :)

That's exactly what I thought you meant the first time, so don't worry about making language mistakes, you will always receive the benefit of the doubt in your favor here. My language is not English either;)

( i didn't know where to post this, so i thought this thread would be best )

Due alot of problems i've been suffering lately is because somehow my server don't like ocPortal, even all requirements are OK…

My biggest problem came back..

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>406 Not Acceptable</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Not Acceptable</h1>
<p>An appropriate representation of the requested resource /install.php could not be found on this server.</p>
<p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p>
</body></html>

and other extreme slow downs..

Im unable to change provider due very limited funding atm and this makes me really sad saying:

I must switch to other CMS what is given in options through Fantastico, i was fallen deeply in ocPortal and it felt perfect for me. Im very sad to say goodbye for you all.

Thank you all for helping me, and im sorry it was kind of for "nothing" because i can't use those what i've learned..

I'm sorry to read that you are giving up after so much efforts, as I understand your frustrations and the need to move on to quickly find a solution that works for you, but if your provider has "fantastico" with several choices of cms available, you have to assume that the same problems will resurface with any other cms since they more or less have similar requirements and will be affected by your provider's shortcoming.

If you need help in solving your error messages, I'm sure it would be forthcoming if you post the detail of it and open your site so that some of us can point to possible corrective measures.

In any cases, I wish you only the best of luck and I feel sad that we did not have enough time to sort out your problems.

Sincerely,
Jean

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
