Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

I stumbled in from the elgg river noticing the name ocPortal. It quickly caught my attention and wanted to learn more. I have been using Coranto as my CMS of choice for my client's ability to update their site. My thought would be to build their site locally in xampp then port it to their server when ready. How to install on xampp reading would be appreciated as I learn my way around this forum would be appreciated. Feel free to prod me in the right direction.

Additionally, I love the ease of creating new pages on the fly which would be great for an existing e-commerce site of mine.

Also I have a specialized CMS that I wrote that would be neat it use ocPortal as the framework for my custom CMS that would allow my creation to become more flexible.

Looking forward to learning.

Hi new folks!

A custom CMS using ocPortal framework? That sounds interesting. However I have to wonder, with how incredibly flexible and powerful ocPortal is, would you really need that? If you have the knowhow, which is sounds like you do, you may be able to make ocPortal do all that you were striving to do with your own CMS, and perhaps even more! That, in itself, should save you loads of time that would take to work on your custom CMS.

ocPortal = what ever you make of it. Unlike Joomla and others, the only limitations are your own.

Legends of Nor'Ova: A site powered by ocPortal; home of the Legends of Nor'Ova tabletop RPG wiki and community.

Like ocPortal? Want to thank Chris and gang somehow? Then help out in the chat room! It really needs your help! Just open it in a tab everytime you open your web browser, and when you hear a "ding", check it out!
