Fan in action

Since I've posted a few questions on the forum, I'll take a moment to introduce myself.

I'm a retired programmer / truck driver.  Don't ask, I got tired of doing what others told me they thought they wanted only to find out that what they said and what they meant were two different things so I switched to having someone tell me where to go. (Well, they did that when I was programming, too ...)

Most of my programming life was spent working in COBOL, various dialects of BASIC, APL, FORTRAN and (argh!) RPG in either an educational or a standard business environment.

Since I'm now retired, I do things that I enjoy doing and don't have the slightest problem telling someone to go away since most of what I've done is volunteer work for various non-profits similar to the Cincinatti Project.  I've played around with a couple of CMS systems but haven't liked any of them.  It seems as if they either want you to write code for everything or they want to give a standard web site - take it or leave it.

I like what I'm seeing with ocPortal since customization doesn't seem to be the headache of other 'grander' CMS's (eg Joomla) and support from the crowd has been astounding!

My thanks to all involved!
