Hi all,
I have struggled for many years trying to manage web sites purely as hobbies due to chronic illness.
Time after time I have come unstuck mainly when core upgrades are released the add-ons needed are not upgraded at the same time causing all sorts of nightmares, but then if you don't upgrade you leave your site open to hacking and spamming as any security vulnerabilities have been made public with the latest core release, you just can't win!
This is where I am so excited about OCPortal at this time where it is still being released as an entire package, not just a core file with thousands of add-ons one has to spend days and days sifting through to find what you want if it is there only to find it is not updated to the latest core release, and if it remains in this format the security upgrades should be far more simpler.
Thank you to the OCPortal Team, I hope in time I can grow to be of some use to be able to give something back.

I think you will find that you have made a great choice with ocPortal. When it came time for me to do my site,it was the fact that ocPortal offered the features I needed as part of the package. I'd had my fill of playing the update/add-on game previously.

Thanks Bob,
I know exactly what you mean, maybe if I had found OCPortal years ago I might have some hair left :-)

Hi downunder, and welcome from Victoria!

One of the key reasons I went with ocPortal was the solid base. I literally went through every CMS that was available with my host, and the completeness of base played a big roll in my decision to go with ocPortal.

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

I do understand what you mean neighbour :-)
Like you I have been through them all, each one being a complete new learning curve each time, and the amount of money I have wasted being held to ransom from paying for support to paying for add-ons and even custom coding that just simply didn't make the grade.
I am very impressed so far.

Luckily I didn't let it get that far. I road tested them all thoroughly before I made a choice.

Same here. I certainly have no regrets.

Welcome downunder.

Glad you have discovered the way to create rich content for your site without having to run for cover when an addon becomes unstable. With ocPortal everything gets nurtured into the future at the same pace.
